Do NOT let this woman anywhere near your family!!!! She uses her position as guardian ad litem to fuel conflict between parents and maximize her billable hours. She chooses a side immediately, does not have any interest in getting to know the children (it’s not uncommon for her to only meet your child or children one time for a few minutes, no matter how short or long the duration of the litigation is). She is known to have custody evaluations changed to favor the parent she has sided with, which is typically the parent that is most likely to seek sole custody and engage in conflict. This is why her fellow attorneys call her a “man hater.” No good attorney wants anything to do with her, so if your attorney suggests her, it’s time to find someone else because everyone knows that Sarah is the worst thing that could happen to you, your spouse, and your child.

We had a very complex family law modification involving an older teen. Respondent is mentally unstable but comes across as credible, at first. It took some time for the experts in our case to understand what we have been dealing with for years in regards to respondent. But a consensual truth was reached. Bottom line is this: follow your GAL's instructions to a T. They have their reasons for asking that certain things be done. Sarah Pleban told us upfront that her sole loyalty was to the minor child. Of course, this will always lead to one side being bitter and the other side being relieved, but that is how contested modifications work. If you have not liked how Sarah Pleban handled your case, maybe you should analyze your own habits and behavior first.

It's odd she has no ratings on Avvo. Do not let her be assigned as a GAL. I lost 2 teenage daughters to parental alienation right under her nose. No matter how much written evidence I showed her she refused to act. Your lawyer may tell you she is "great" at managing high conflict divorces. She is not. She is great at expediting high conflict divorces to the side with the most financial resources/most connected lawyer. DO NOT ACCEPT HER AS YOU GAL unless the law firm that represents you is more expensive and prestigious than your spouse's. Even this this situation Sarah is terrible for your children's mental health and should be avoided.

All you need to do is read any other sites reviews. How does this woman still have a job? How does she live with herself?
