Click to report rating    9/10/16   1     1     1     1     1   MR Geymon is slow and very incompetent. I was referred to him by another friend/attorney. I did all the initial filing with the EEOC, had a suit letter paid him $1500 up front. I was an HR MANAGER and assumed I had some chance for Mr.Geymon to submit some sort of demand letter on my behalf and after sending him chronologies, files and letters which most he lost or misplaced 18months later he never sent one demand in for me. All he did for $1500 was send a letter of representation and one letter to my employer. He never called or spoke with them about my case. So if you want to pay $750 a letter then he is your guy piss your money away. At least he and his family will have a nice vacation and get more for my money then I did. Find yourself a more go getter attorney than Doug because he won't do much for you. RID: 174117
Click to report rating    6/20/16   5     5     3     3     1   Mr. Geyman is no fool. What he is looking for is a case that is going to pay him. What most of these attorneys are taking is the fee and then clients do not have money to keep going with their case. RID: 170742

Click to report rating    10/18/15   3     1     1     1     1   Worse experience ever! After feeling bad about a situation and going to him for help knowing I had a good case I was left with more issues than when I began. His response was , "I sent them a letter" that's about all my money got me. 1 mailed letter not even certified...this lawyer is a joke. RID: 160589
5/21/14   1     2     1     1     1   Mr. Geyman has to be the most incompetent attorney on the planet. I was terminated from my job of 16 yrs. He assured me that this was a good case & I will probably be reinstated or receive a decent settlement. He was preoccupied with money. He stated that if I did not have the $2500 retainment, that he will call my mother for payment! I should've ran then.I invested $10,000 in this lawsuit & was awarded $10,000 out of court settlement, inwhich he received $2,000. We met with the party I was sueing & the judge, the party asked me a question but, before I could answer, Mr Geyman blurted out "I will like to know the answer, too". I was shocked & wondered whose side is this moron on! I was reluctant to sign the Settlement Form so his secretary called me every day for 9 days until I met with him and signed the form. I was disappointed with the settlement but was relieved that I did not have to deal with his greed & incompetence any longer. I am sure my opponent paid him $$$. RID: 137132
Click to report rating    3/29/14   1     1     1     1     1   I agree bad attorney! I have been on this case with Mr. Geyman for several years I had paid alot of money. Almost 30,000 dollars, he kept no receipts, showed me no progress, but we made it to 5 monthd before trial. Then**** canned my case. Mr. Geyman assured me that I would pay no more money on this case. It was all the money we had. Now I am stuck on a federal case and have to seek another attorney. He was presented the case and kept hamming it up that it was a good winning case. I was sketical. Now tables are turned. He placed depositions for persons on the opposing sides without premision from mtself. I would seek another attorney. Now I have a legal brief and all kinds of stuff to get ready for this case. I was going to offer more money to him because I was so in need to finish this case up. He also never keeps all the evidence you send or even is familiar with the case. I now pray this new lawyer will help. RID: 134601
Click to report rating    8/2/13   5     5     5     5     5   It was a pleasure not just having Doug handle my case, but it was a learning experience. First, you must understand that this process is like playing poker EXCEPT your cards and money are reversed...Both parties can see each others' cards...but NOT how much money. Second as Doug explains so well, his job can consist mostly of managing your expectations instead of the case...So lower your expectations. Expect it to take a lot longer...find healthy things to do with your time. Don't constantly call and JUST KNOW Doug is working for you! Doug will be very honest that no matter what retainer you put down, it most likely will require more money depending on how far you want to go...Use my reverse-poker analogy. As I look back, every time I thought he or his team wasn't doing something right, I later found out they did. He is also a proud ex USMC and it shows in his formal yet kind worded meetings. Every case is unique. Everyone working should put $10k for protection. RID: 120441
Click to report rating    2/18/13   5     5     5     5     5   I am a business owner in San Diego, California and have used Doug as my attorney for several issues that I have had with various employees over the last 15 years. Doug has a gift for resolving tense situations before they get out of hand. Each time that I have used his services, he has sucessfully negotiated a settlement agreement that was satisfactory to everyone involved, without the need to use the court system. I would recommend Mr. Geyman to anyone involved in an employment dispute. RID: 101812
Click to report rating    4/14/12   5     5     5     5     5   My friends and I used him and he kept us in our jobs. People usually don't take the time to write good reviews but I'll do it for all of us. In this economy, What I really needed to do was keep my job and he found a way to do that so I wouldn't get messed with again. I couldn't have done that myself. Now I feel good going to work and I know that pay will be on time and as agreed. RID: 67789

Click to report rating    3/16/11   5     5     5     5     5   I was fired from my job 2 days after I filed a worker's compensation claim. I had injured my shoulder at work. I hired Mr. Geyman to represent me and to get his advice. He filed a law suit against my employer and they settled out of court. I found that he was kind and funny and had a way of making me feel like I was not a victim. I hope that I never have to go through a law suit again but I will certainly call him again if I need to. I have referred other people to him and he has even helped one of my friends. This is one of the good ones. RID: 42655
Click to report rating    1/10/11   5     5     5     5     5   I had a great experience with this attorney. I hired him after I lost my job. I spoke with him in the office and he found out that my former employer was not paying me for overtime and I was not getting the breaks for lunch that I was supposed to get. Mr. Geyman wrote a letter to the employer and they agreed to gove me money without us having to file a law suit in court. The whole thing took several weeks and I was satisfied with the way that it turned out. RID: 39393
Click to report rating    10/21/10   1     1     1     1     1   I gave him a total of $10,500. We push me to settle for $5000. which he gets 20%. So I gave him a total of 12,000, to recive $3000. Oh!and after I ask for a bill statement he add anohter $345.00 that he says I own him. He can kiss my backside. I'r reporting him to the Bar Ass. He sure make good money this way. RID: 36359
Click to report rating    11/17/09   2     1     1     1     1   I hired this attorney and explained my problems. Unfortunately, receiving responses and or communication was a challenge. In addition Attorney Geyman had listening challenges. In other words, I communicate to him one item and he returns with something different. In addition, besides knowing discrimminatory challenges, he does not mind taking $$$. Furthermore, when individuals submit complaints, then individuals are retaliated against through no employment and supported by counsel. Thus, certainly not an attorney, who supports the employee.  10/26/09   5     5     5     5     5   I hired this attorney after I was fired from my job. I had complained to human resourses about not getting my lunch breaks. Mr. Geyman took my case and filed a suit in court. Soon after the suit was filed the defendant made an offer that was too low. We decided to reject the offer and continue forward. After another 2 months the offer was larger and we decided to accept it. Mr. geyman was helpful and the staff was friendly. Over all it was a good experience. RID: 23574
Click to report rating    5/10/09   1     1     1     1     1   Mr. Geyman never ever returned my numerous and increasingly desperate calls and emails regarding the status of my case. His failure to act resulted in the loss of everything that my son and I had, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS THAT I HAD ENTRUSTED TO HIM!! Fortunately, I had already scanned and emailed the vast majority of these vital documents and, therefore, still have access to them. The documents which he reviewed and specifically referred to in the "Demand Letter" are now, he claims, "lost". I intend to pursue this matter to the fullest extent of the law. RID: 18172
Click to report rating    11/23/08   5     5     5     5     5   I hired this attorney in January after I had been terminated from my job with the Government. After meeting with him, we decided on moving right in to litigation. At first I was scared by the whole thing, because I have never had to do anything like this before. It worked out well and the case settled and I was able to pay off some of the money that I had to borrow to make ends meet after my job loss. I hope that I never have to use the legal system again, but he made the situation as good as it can be. RID: 13883

12/13/07   1     1     1     1     1   Horrible attorney! He has over a dozen lawsuits from previous clients and in 10 of them he is the Defendant. He never did any work for me like he said he was and he missed my statute of limitations on my case. On top of that he never gave me my retainer back. THUMBS DOWN! RID: 6759
Click to report rating    11/6/07   5     4     5     5     5   I researched several attorneys in San Diego before hiring Mr. Geyman. Both he and his staff were friendly. He (and the other attorneys that I interviewed)said that I had a good case. He pursued my case to court and forced the other side to settle. The only slightly negative thing was that he often did not return my calls until the next day. RID: 6336
