I went to see this lawyer about 2 years ago from my divorce. He flat out told me to stay with him because there is no way that I would survive on my own with my 2 young kids, and that if I did leave I would jump right into another relationship that would just hurt them. Then talked about his sister and how she can't get a good relationship either. Then how lucky he is to have his wife. My Ex was bad and cheating... staying wasn't an option.

Bernie is knowledgeable enough, but every time you go to see him it take SO LONG because he does a full brain dump on everything knows that's even tangentially related to the topic, complete with his lengthy family anecdotes. The times I have gone to see him somebody else has been paying, so I haven't been that concerned about the cost. If your meetings with Bernie are on your dime, it could add up.
