This lady is a bad lawyer. This lady claims she knows about abusive families, then abuses you by not caring or being considerate finding some one else when she's dilly dallying around. No communication by phone or emails answered. Sent many and left several messages. Blamed no communication on her own family issues. This lady did absolutely nothing for me in the last year of my legal aid. "What would you like me to do here?" She says when finally conversing with her. This lady let my legal aid run out after 2 years. Complained to LSS twice being told once to stay with her. I have all the correspondences from this experience I never want to go through again. This lady din't even acknowledged my new lawyer which I had to borrow $$ to retain after firing her. This lady has no business being a lawyer in family law with such sensitive issues with children. I highly WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this lady as a family lawyer. Bad, Bad, bad review. :(

She is the worst professional I have ever hired... in any profession. I ended up having to go with another lawyer to finish my case. Terrible communicator.

She comes across as a studious 21 year old fresh out of law school; yet she must be over 60. Maybe that is her way of seeming as though she's studious. She is sneaky as once left a courtroom and saw her skulking around. Maybe she wanted to pick up information. She is condescending and cold. There are many choices out there; do not choose this lawyer. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. She contradicts the marketing of her belief systems, too.

Crystal did a wonderful job on my case. I am so happy to have found her. I would definitely refer friends and family to her if they were ever to find themselves in the difficult family situation I was in. She cares deeply about the children involved too.

I would highly recommend Crystal. She is very knowledgeable and intelligent. She is able to quickly grasp the issues and the pertinent arguments for and against them. She was an amazing and responsive resource during a high conflict divorce, and always worked to ensure the children's interest were put first. She was ethical, and fair and consistently recommended ethical and fair actions. She repeatedly named, and stood up to bullying and threatening behaviour, and helped me to do the same. Despite her being a very skilled mediator, we did end up in court. There, her expertise and finesse shone. Each question was precisely delivered to bring out the key issues of the case. She was also very skilled at understanding the judge and what specific evidence and manner in presenting it would be most favorable. I am so grateful for her help.

Ms. Buchan really deserves a negative score. She didn't even know the proper Land Registry Office language for doing a simple house sale transfer and refused to rectify her error. I had to go to court and do it myself after months of her saying it was 'underway'! The sale of my house fell through and cost me thousands of dollars thru her incompetence. I took her to a hearing of the Law Society where she lied to them and subsequently showed their lack of knowlege by blaming her mistake on the different language of the Duncan Land Registry Office. Too bad none of these supposedly qualified lawyers and judges didn't catch her lie...there is only 1 office on Van Island and it is only in Victoria! Of course the Law Society ruled in her favour. Oh yes, and they also had documentation showing that she manipulated and changed billing invoices and lied about that as well when the evidence was in bold faced black and white! BIG JOKE LAW SOCIETY and no recourse when they are blatantly negligent.

Watch your money. This lawyer works at glacial speed and charges you plenty for every hour she wastes. Wasted 12K on legal expenses when the final result was already a foregone conclusion. Stay away from here. Always late.
