This public defender is representing my fiance. He has made promises of dropped charges in exchange for her to sign a plea deal of one case, but charges in 2nd case showed on calendar 2 months after she signed the plea bargain. Even as a listed party on her case, he won't answer my phone calls or return them either. She has been incarcerated awaiting trial since Feb 6, of this year, but he has only visted her one time. I understand public defender caseloads are extreme, but one visit in four months? Unable toanswer or even return one phone call? Now offering different deal than promised, delivered in a letter to the jail. If you find yourself needing a court appointed attorney in Henry County, GA, better hope you aren't dealt Mr.Puckett. No defense at all. Empty promises and pressure to take the plea bargain has been our experience. Guilty or not, it doesn't seem to matter to him at all.
