The biggest mistake I ever made was retaining Laurie Pawlitza. She demanded I sign documents that gave all leverage to opposing counsel. That's right. She worked for my spouse rather than me. Do not ever retain this lawyer.

Laurie advocated for me and my family through one of life's most painful and stressful times. After retaining 2 other lawyers through my divorce, I found in Laurie someone who treated my settlement as a priority. She was a tireless professional who provided me with the knowledge, leadership and strength to see us through to a peaceful resolution while managing an overtly aggressive and hostile 'other side'. Laurie was mindful, patient and extremely communicative throughout what was a tedious case, and kept the best interests of my kids at heart all the while. She is a consummate professional with an efficient and courteous support staff, I recommend her highly.

Invaluable guidance in a complex same sex family structure. With a short fuse. Clean easier to read writing style.

Having been on the receiving end of Laurie's professional communications, if you are looking for someone whose style of engagement is overt hostility and bullying while embarking on a strategy of mayhem and confusion, Ms Pawlitza is the one for you. She seems to have a knack for leveraging a client's anxiety to make a bad situation even worse. If you happen to have the pleasure of engaging with her as opposing counsel, stay calm, don't fall for the bait and keep your wits about you as all she seems to be doing is attempting to rattle your cage, hoping that you do something stupid and irrational. If your ex is intent on making your life crazy, you have a large budget for legal fees and have a thing for sadomasochism , Ms Pawlitza should rank high on your list, as she is sure to be able to push the buttons of any quick-tempered, soon to be ex spouse.

It must be rare to exit a divorce with a reasonable settlement feeling more antipathy towards your own lawyer than your former spouse. This woman managed just that!
