Mr. Cook has been invaluable in resolving my family matter. His knowledge of the law and understanding of the due process saved me tremendous amount of time and helped me avoid spending thousands on legal fees. Chris seems to be very busy, but he does make an effort to understand. When I had questions about my parents' Estates, he took the time to go through the circumstances and after an hour and a half, he charged me what I would have paid for a hair cut. I find his advice to be extremely helpful, and saved thousands if I'd gone to court needlessly.

We dealt with Chris for a real estate transaction. We found one of his assistants to be very helpful, however, his assistant Alison was very condescending. We worked with Chris through correspondence and found he did not know much about our situation until nearly closing the deal, at which point he became hot headed, aggressive, condescending and upset us and other people involved in the transaction. His interpersonal skills are lacking. We would not recommend this lawyer.

We met Chris over a complex real estate transaction involving multiple parties. Similar to another reviewer, he did not respond to earlier attempts to communicate by email, so I called and left a phone message. I did get a reply from his paralegal the next day, and promptly set up an appointment for that afternoon. Upon arriving at his offices, we were asked to sit in the waiting room and Chris came out and began his consultation. He heard our intentions, and inquired about various agreements. During this consultation he would not make eye contact with either of us even though we were the only people in the room. He called our intentions idiotic, and then abruptly stood up and said this meeting is over, go find someone else to represent you. Very unsettling. We walked exactly one block, and have found another lawyer with experience in these transactions to assist us. Whew.

Chris was supposed to appear for me in Nelson, I live in a different province so I was counting on him to represent me. After a no-show and multiple attempts at calling him, he answered weeks later and told me that he neglected to appear on my behalf, to turn myself into the police and get another lawyer to help me with the rest of the case. I asked him why I didn't get at least a phone call so I could find someone else less busy to do the job and he hung up on me. All in all, does not seem like someone who cares about his clients and I can't recommend him.
