Steve spent many years working on my very complex case. Between 2011 and 2017 I had 4 car accidents that caused serious damage to my body, memory, emotional well being and eventually, a full collapse of my life amd family. He worked hard for me and kept me in the loop every step of the way. Though I was pushed around by ICBC drastically and in many ways unfairly, Steve had my back constantly, leading up to the final meeting with ICBC lawyers in which they attempted to throw me off by addressing very personal issues that they deemed to be irrelevant in the case - Steve reminded me to stay strong and ignore their very low attempts to push me beyond my limits and lose my temper. Instead, we addressed the icbc lawyers as a team and eventually finally closed out a 9 year battle. I recommend Steve Ballard 100%

Really happy I chose Cowley law and Steve as my lawyer. I liked that Steve was very blunt with me right at the beginning and told me that nothing wouod happen from a legal point of view for a couple of years unless I recovered. I noticed that he was not very responsive to emails at times. The results were sure worth it. ICBC said I was 90% responsible and he was able to prove that I was only 40% responsible for a crash. Not perfect but way better than being stuck on my own.

Like many others who have had to seek legal counsel due to the contempt of insurance companies. I was extremely reluctant in seeking legal counsel, but ended up putting my complete trust in Mr. Ballard and his team. With his steadfast guidance and reassurance mitigating my angst and anxiety. A fair and equitable outcome was reached recently. I highly recommend Mr. Ballard and his team for their dedication, commitment and professionalism they showed throughout. Dec. 2014 I was hit by a driver running a red light as I was waiting to turn left, sitting in the middle of the intersection. Icbc was ridiculous in the next 2 weeks, 3 adjusters and way too many calls. Went to Stephen after a referral. Best thing I could have done. It did take 4 years but that was Icbc's fault. Stephen was wonderful, patient, sympathetic, and professional. Holly, the assistant, was also amazing. We would totally recommend Cowley and Co. to anyone that has had a vehicle accident and was injured. You have to be patient with this process. The court system and Icbc work at a glacier speed, so don't blame the lawyers. They want it over with as much as you do. Hire Stephen Ballard and you wont be disappointed.

Steve Ballard from Cowely and company represented me in a major motor vehicle accident (the other driver was at fault). Steve is very honest about what he knows he can get for you. He will work tirelessly to defend your interests. Dealing with ICBC yourself can be extremely difficult and frustrating they will try to settle for the least amount of money possible. Steve was supportive and extremely helpful through out this process. I went outside of my comfort zone and we went for a settlement I never thought we could get, but though trusting Steve’s judgment and experience I got an amazing settlement. Better than I could have ever imagined. I would highly recommend Steven Ballard. (As long as you are not at fault for the accident)

TERRIBLE REPRESENTATION! Handed my case over or another very inexperienced lawyer days before trial. No communication at all. Doesn't ever return emails, won't make an appointment or return phone calls. I would sooner represent myself than ever use this firm again. Horrific experience. Legal assistant Holly is extremely unprofessional, poor communication. One word response to emails after waiting weeks. Extremely frustrating. Like running in circles. Don't use this firm. Horrific!

Steve is a very knowledgeable compassionate lawyer. He kept me up to date on my personal injury claim with ICBC and provided me with honest facts throughout the process. He also ensured I was receiving the proper medical care I required. His assistants and other staff were friendly and extremely competent. I have recommended him specifically to several friends. He verbalized his disdain for his occupation to me and his fear of going to trial.He tried to negotiate a settlement that was 40% of what I fought for myself and received. He is incompetent as a lawyer and his superior Lee Cowley won't do anything about it! Run away from Cowley and Company. I wish I would have read the reviews first.

Ballard kept me in the dark for 3 1/2 years. He lied at mediation, and I ended up with a dismal settlement due to his incompetence.
