Jennifer Long, a local Stouffville resident and family law lawyer has helped me (also a Stouffville resident) on a number of occasions- from assisting me with my previous separation, to drafting my Will and powers of attorney to then advising me and protecting me with a Cohabitation agreement. Whenever I’ve had an issue, Jennifer has been there. She is very helpful and will always email me or hop on a call (even if I have not retained her or my retainer has ended) to see how or if she can assist. If my request has been outside of her area of expertise (ex I had asked her about applying for probate for my father’s will - which is not something she does) she was and is totally honest but still has taken the time to talk to me and refer me to a trusted colleague. Well connected and clearly well respected, Jennifer is one of the original and in my view, as I did consult a few others prior to meeting her, the best family law lawyer in Stouffville.

I can see that someone left a negative review on Friday… unfortunate that when a lawyer does an excellent job, the other side feels it necessary to try to tarnish her stellar reputation. Jennifer Long is a fantastic lawyer. I live in Stouffville and worked with her when she was at the other firm but just retained her again through her new firm because of my ex-husband being difficult with our kids. Jennifer has already given me great advice on how to navigate him while she takes care of the legal side. Jennifer is amazing and always shows me she cares. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Is she cheap? No but she is fair. For the quality, it’s worth every penny! She has saved my family. Incredible passionate effective fearless caring! There are so many amazing words! Jennifer is amazing in every respect. Do not waste a second on any other lawyer in stouffville- trust me. I had a lawyer from another firm in the building across from lMcDonald’s and I would never waste my time or money on any other lawyer. Trust Jennifer. She does it right and she tells it straight. My situation is in court so it’s not fast but that’s not under Jennifer’s control- but I can say that at the VERY FIRST COURT DATE, Jennifer got me from having my children only one day a week (before) to an immediate shared parenting schedule. I have retained Jennifer in May of this year. What I really was impressed by was that as soon as I retained Jennifer she made sure that we met, and that we had a good discussion about the issues, and she really talked about what is most important to me, what my goals are, and what I need and want to accomplish. This really helped me. My head was spinning and I didn't know how to even approach this. But with Jennifer's help, I now have a clear path forward and much more confidence. I see that my ex husband wrote a bad review about Jennifer on March 13, 2023. Actually he is getting sued by Jennifer because he owes over $30k in court costs and he is refusing to pay. Also you can see that he can’t write proper grammar - because he’s an idiot. There is a reason this guy is single and no woman would be around him. Jennifer is a fantastic lawyer. Maybe if my ex had hired a lawyer and not made a total *** of himself in court, he wouldn’t have to sit in his sad basement apartment in his stinky underpants and attack the lawyer who OWNED his b*tt in court. She is a terrible money hungry lawyer. She charged me tens of thousands of dollars and I am having her assessed by the law society. She canceled my appointments and missed calls with me constantly and then made up excuses. It makes me sick to my stomach that someone who is so money hungry is responsible for my future. I always paid her on time so she can't say that she fired me because I didn't pay.

Jennifer Long is by far the best of the best! I had a complicated case dealing primarily with child support and parenting time. My case changed many hands in the previous 4 years before finding her. I started to feel hopeless regarding reaching a resolution. However Jennifer believed in me and in my case, and she was determined to stick up for my son and I.
My matter needed to go to trial, and Jennifer was there beside me every step of the way. We were the successful party at trial and in fact achieved an outcome that far exceeded our expectations. I hired Jennifer after another lawyer convinced me to sign minutes of settlement in court that really hurt my case about custody. Jennifer came to court with me at the next case conference and turned it all around and now things are moving back to what I wanted from the beginning. I had to rate this lawyer because I was and am just so impressed already. I met with her just last week for a consultation. And I hired her right then and there. I had interviewed two other lawyers including a Bay Street "big wig" but didn't feel I was listened to. Jennifer was different. She was absolutely engaged and empathetic. She reminds me to focus on the important things - my kids- and not to get upset over petty things. One of the best things about Jennifer is how reachable she is. If you email her, she will get back to you very quickly, whether it's the weekend or if she is on holidays. She will also drop everything to help you on short notice if she has to. I felt that she really had made me and my case a priority and she has achieved a lot for me in a short time. Ms. Long was a great choice. She is very matter-of-fact and tells it like it is. She is also very confident and doesn't get rattled. She is very passionate. She fought hard to get me what was fair but also sat me down to explain why settling was the best idea. I had been wanting to push it further and wanted to go through court but Ms. Long explained to me in very frank terms why the settlement was fair, and what court would involve (the time, costs involved etc). Unbelievably, we settled and my ex and I are able to look each other in the eye. We get along better than ever now and the kids are happier too. Looking back, I dont think that could have been possible if we dragged it through the court system. Ms. Long was everything I hoped a lawyer to be and more.
