This attorney won't call back
He is big lair, won't return phone calls, has his secretaries lie
for him, and should not be an attorney for anyone.
If this sound bitter, your right, this man has hurt my family and has not one ounce of sympathy in is body. Do not ever hire this man.

Absolutely stay away from this attorney. I would have had better luck on my own, and it would have been far cheaper. Shady accounting and billing from an attorney that cares far more about the money than she does her clients. Recommends strategies that will only add to the billable hours and will not help in the case at all. Continually postpones court dates to add to billable hours. Untrustworthy!

The Law office team was sensitive to the nature of my concerns, fears, and uncertainty. From the initial phone consultation to the end everything unfolded and I received what I expected through my divorce. I pushed hard to have things happen quickly and at then end I was attempting to close on a property that I did not want my soon to be ex to be on. Denise and Vicky went above and beyond by hand carrying the papers through the court days prior to my closing eliminating further paper work to have my ex removed from the new title. Bottom line is the court system is so backed up in CA that patience is the key and not getting the communication from the Law Offices is not that they are ignoring the case they are simply saving the client money. Communication! I accomplished this from start to finish from out of state and got what I wanted and probably could have received more had I wanted to be that person.

They mailed us the wrong fee agreement. I signed and returned with a check for 5K. I get a call a few days later saying that was the incorrect agreement, and they'd be sending the new one in the mail and via email. NEVER SHOWED UP. After waiting 2 weeks I call them. Said that we're not going to pursue the matter with them. We took the lack of communication as a bad sign. It took us OVER 3 WEEKS to get our retainer of $4900 back. They charged us $100 for "opening a file" What they put in that file who knows..since they DIDN"T HAVE ANYTHING TO FILE. Just really unprofessional, Denise and her staff. Rude. Unhelpful. They basically lied to us for over 3 weeks. I was so frustrated that I called the CA Bar. I was getting ready to file a complaint when the check showed up. The lady I talked to at the Bar, said what was happening was "UNACCEPTABLE". Denise's case recommendations DID NOT match the other second and third opinions I got. AVOID like the PLAGUE.

Run Fast! This law firm was completely unprofessional and did absolutely nothing for me that I couldn’t have done for myself. My hard earned $5,000 retainer seemed to be nothing to this
office but a drop in the hat. Dirks Law Firm made so many mistakes on my paperwork that they practically handed my case to the opposing party gift wrapped. Not only did I not have a leg
to stand on as a result of their numerous mistakes, but I also had no grounds for Attorneys Fees since the attorney which I was assigned from the law firm was a Newer Practicing attorney and forgot to attach the required forms. Ridiculous! I was so upset with the numerous errors which were being made that I felt it best to request that Dirks Law Firm sign a substitution of Attorney form allowing me to represent myself. After all I

HORRIBLE! She would never answer a single short question on the phone or email. Instead she would type a lengthy letter...mostly off topic and charge me for her efforts "on my behalf". In the initial consultation, she said that the first thing she would get done was to file a joiner to get my name on mu husband's retirement before he cleaned it out. That was in 2010. She never did this potentially costing me thousands of dollars. She charged me $5000 retainer. I could not go much higher than that so when she said she was going to go over that amount, I told her to keep in close contact about any additional cost. The next time she talks to me about money, she claims that I owed another $5000. When she found out that I couldn't afford it, she got herself off my case and got the judge to get my husband to pay. I am still married because I can no longer even afford the fees to do the job myself.

YOU BETTER RUN FAST! She' TOTALLY incompetent She said it might cost $30k but at least I'd get the house back. I was double and triple charged thousands and thousands because she had to hire other attorneys to help after getting me sued over a conflict of interest dispute over my inheritance. She filed to represent me in multiple capacities as trustee and special administer and It burned up half a million dollars and lasted 7 years. She repeatedly lost boxes of my documents that were taken from me at depositions and then says she doesn't know what I'm talking about when I asked if they've showed up. Final letter from her says she'll call the police if I go to her office again! Get a real attorney - NOT HER!! MY GOD, MY LIFES JUST ABOUT RUINED!!

She represented me and didn't do a heck of a lot to get me divorced. After $10,000 I wonder what I paid for. My initial meeting was with another lawyer who seemed ethical. When he disappeared I should have taken it as a warning sign. I would recommend avoiding at all costs.

This woman is horrible! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY! She had no interest in what was best for me. She failed to provide me any service worth paying for and when her mistakes were caught by the other side, she actually charged me to fix them! She was such a horrible attorney that I ended up going back to representing myself and had to forceably remove her as my attorney! I am filing a state bar complaint against her and i just hope that she stops taking advantage of people. Don't let her use you to fatten her wallet! You will end up broke, with no results and frustrated beyond words at her inability to do her job!

Denise is highly unethical, unprofessional, and woefully inadequate in her defense procedures. He communicates poorly, sends bills for unsubstantiated charges, shows up to court chasing after her mother and completely unprepared. After $10,000.00 and additional fees she charged, did not even get me a divorced. I, as well as others to accompanied me in support made comments that she seemed to be representing the other party, never showing compassion and always promising the world, but never following through on any items discussed or detailed before the hearing. Constantly ran out of court in order to accomplish what the judge had asked her to supply. I would not recommend this attorney to anyone, and will take this case as far I need to get closure and to ensure she does not do this to anyone else in the future. She preys upon unsuspecting and emotionally drained people. We tried to get out of our contract once with her, but were unsuccessful.

Horrible. Actually thought she was representing the other party. Run as fast as you can from this lady. Didn't have a clue what paperwork her office had received. Told us a court date was cancelled (it wasn't)and sent her assistant to represent us. We found out a week later. Too much to list here.

Denise charged me thousands of dollars without accomplishing ANYTHING. After begging her for one year to help me settle my case and being ignored by her, I had enough, so I finally terminated my contract and started from scratch with another lawyer. Denise charges you on and on without moving your case forward. She is the worst lawyer you could ever imagine. Don't let her ruin your life and drain your bank account. She is the rudest person I've ever met.

We went to her with a child custody case. She stated that the case was clear cut, and would be resolved in 3 months. We gave her a $5,000 retainer. She certainly is money driver, and charges for the most ridiculous items! If we pointed out mistakes in the paperwork (things like the child's name spelled incorrectly), she charged US to fix her mistakes! Completely unprofessional, high turnover in support staff. Now, 16 months later we are STILL getting random bills from her even though the case has been over for 8 months. We have argued several billed items, and she has waived some of the fees. But seriously, why or earth should we continue to pay you when the case is over and done? I would never, ever recommend this attorney to anyone.

She is 100% money driven... a year later and a simple divorce with no property and no children is still not complete. We've invested $9000 and she wants another $5000 retainer. We ceased our relationship, she didn't file the substitution of attorney so our settlement conference from 2 months ago where I was in pro per is null. Divorce still not final, substitution still not filed. She won't return calls or file the form until I pay her an outstanding balance of $600. I'm fine with paying what is owed, but I want the work done that I'm paying for. She billed for filing the form, but didn't file it. It takes her days to weeks to get back to you and both she and especially her paralegal speak down to her clients.

She seems to know the law, but speaks very fast and way above most people's heads. I agree that she does seem to be money-driven so drags the case out in order to keep billing. After 9 months, my separation was still not complete and she was asking for a second retainer fee of $5000. I would certainly not refer a friend. I also had issues with the service and competency of her paralegal.

She is hired to represent you, but gives the opposing side everthing they demand while you pay her outrageous, unnecessary and unreasonable fees. If you question anything she does, she will bill you for it. Don't plan on having any input into your own case, she will ignore it and do as she pleases at your expense. She has high turnover in her staff because they can't stand her dictator style. She will not advise or give you options on anything since she makes all the decisions for you. She is the example of what gives lawyers a bad reputation. I would have done better representing myself, and will in the future. With her on your side, you are sure to lose. It is bad enough to have to be in a situation requiring legal advice, but then to have to fight your own attorney and be charged for questioning her lack of professionalism and biling practices adds to the injury. BEWARE
