When you hire Aaron Franks, you do not hire him. He passes the work to his juniors and then shows up in court as though he knows everything about the case. He doesn't. He gets briefed beforehand and wings it. He is a crappy lawyer who is lazy and cocky. He should be cancelled.

I wish someone told me about this website before I retained Mr. Franks. My experience was horrible. He is arrogant, rude and lazy. He loves believing that he is the smartest person in the room. He is not. He just talks a big talk, points the finger at others when things don't go right and then after billing huge lawyer fees then recommends a settlement that could have been achieved before all that burnt money and conflict. If Mr. Franks cared about families, he would change careers and save people like me the anguish.

Ive waited 6 months before jumping on this review site. I wanted the dust to settle and to write an unemotional and balanced review. Aaron Frank was absolutely terrible. He racked up countless hours on irrelevant and meaningless research that was completely useless to my case. I told him this at the time but he insisted. As predicted all his research was pointless. He folded on EVERY issue presented. Not only did I not win on any issue. He actively campaigned for me to concede on them. He never had my back, never fought for my rights. His team was more far concerned about me paying their bills and paying my spouse (yes!) than in working for my best interest. He was rude, unprofessional and his work has financially ruined me. I would NEVER recommend this lawyer to anyone. Run, run far away from Aaron Frank he doesnt represent your best interest.

Aaron Franks is the most capable, intelligent lawyer I know. I went through 3+ lawyers because the ex was being very difficult. I am shocked by the negative reviews here. Aaron never encouraged me to go to trial, because it will be costly. Junior lawyers do the grunt work, but that's saving you money. Aaron is more expensive than most other lawyers, but overall fees are comparable to previous lawyer billing at $400/hr, as Aaron is way more effective. Aaron is worth his fees and more. My ex was trying to go after me and my family for our entire life savings, I needed Aaron’s expertise to prevent ex from bullshi*tting his way through family court. Aaron was able to turn my case around and stop losses. Aaron promptly responded to urgent emails within a few minutes to one hour, regardless of time of day. Aaron helped me stay reasonable and calm. I’m so thankful to Aaron and his team. I wished I had retained Aaron from the beginning.

Because of Aaron Frank’s laziness, poor preparation and lack of familiarity with my case I lost my case. Then I was charged for my ex’s lawyer’s fees as well as Aaron’s fees. I had to pay $50,000 to my ex-husband because Mr. Franks completely botched my case.I originally was referred to Aaron Franks because of his so-called amazing reputation. Well, regrettably that’s all smoke and mirrors. Aaron Franks talks a big talk and acts as though he owns the entire family law system in Canada. In fact, he doesn’t do any of the work. He passes it off to the juniors at his office and then shows up like he’s the knight in shining armor, cracking jokes with everybody in the court room. But when it comes to actually doing the work, knowing the case and helping the client, he falls flat on his face.

Believe every word you read from those below whose lives, time and finances were raped. This was a case also of patronage, out and out cheating, with the other side's "old boy" lawyer. Franks was the "arbitrator". "Traitor" is the correct part of that word. I waited over a year for a judgement which was composed of having disregarded everything my Counsel and I said. It was though we were not there. I was appalled at the arrogance of this man, who ruined my life after 10 YEARS of lawyers milking me, only to find I am still "trapped" in this legal quagmire for at least another two years. They took 3 million dollars from both of us with no way out. The legal fess were FAR more than I ever ended up with. "STAY AWAY and/or GET OUT.

Aaron Franks urged me to take my case to trial, all along telling me that I had a very strong case. Then, in the middle of trial, he completely did a 180 and told me that I needed to settle my case right away. Mr. Franks’ hourly rate of $575 was out to lunch compared to my ex’s lawyer’s hourly rate which was much lower. I was triple billed for work that Mr. Franks’ juniors did and then Mr. Franks billed (bilked) me again. Because of the bad advice that Mr. Franks gave me, the other lawyer argued that I should pay a higher amount of costs to my ex. When the judge said that my behaviour was unreasonable, she ordered me to pay costs of $35,000. But it was the horrible advice that Mr. Franks gave me that caused this to happen. Mr. Franks is a power-hungry, egotistical and HORRIBLE LAWYER. His only skill is inflating his bills and causing unsuspecting spouses to pursue useless litigation to line his own pockets.

Aaron Franks and Giovanna Cacciola of Epstien Cole did an amazing job. Yes the fees were high - but it was a complex case that impacted not just the divorcing person but the entire family as the ex spouse went after the family company. Our family was accused of lying, tax fraud, cheating. The ex spouse changed lawyers 4 times, failed to disclose except under court order and essentially tried to drag it out. The total bill was over 200K for our side - likely 400K in total. Its a stupid waste of money. it settled a week before trial under court ordered mediation after over 4 years of failure to disclose, changing lawyers 4 times on the other side and just about anything to avoid paying support and splitting assets. Only the lawyers made money. Dont be unreasonable - the law is the law even if you might not like it and no lawyer can change that.
