This individual represented the purchasers of our home in Crestwood, Edmonton. All adjustments finalized in mid-June. The City of Edmonton continued to take out automatic withdrawals for two tax payments (July and August) from our bank account. When Mr Verhaeghe was asked to confirm with the City tax department that the money was taken in mistake, he refused…….. I guess thinking his clients came into free money. He is not trustworthy nor professional. He embarrasses the legal profession.

I hired Tim Verhaeghe with Verhaeghe Law Office to deal with my divorce. I gave him a $5000.00 retainer. The first thing he was asked to do is appear in Provincial Court with me after I was served by my ex. He agreed to do this and more on the file. A few days before the court date he informed me that he would not be able to attend and he was sending another lawyer to attend with me. The lawyer that showed up was not informed about the contents of the file. I then contacted Tim and he would not return my calls. He then sent me an email stating he was quitting my file. He refunded me only $200 out of the $5000 even though he did not do what he promised on the file. This type of conduct makes a person feel like going to the media because it’s more than wrong to do this to anyone especially when people are already going through a difficult time in their life. I was informed that most lawyers would have charged $1500 for what Tim did.

Charges ridiculous rates. Charges for messages you leave and he never calls back.

Very expensive, good at getting back to us, very business like, seems to understand the situation and anticipate what will or could happen. Very good at keeping us focused on the problems and coming up with a game plan. Very courteous, polite and knowledgeable overall.

Timothy is good at returning calls and emails despite a heavy workload. He is personable and undersands where his clients are coming from. You get a good result but he is not cheap. He is knowledgeable and tries to get a negotiated result before going to court. His court preparation is excellent and his appearance simply immaculate in tailor made suit, custom briefcase and diamond studded rolex. His research skills and court preparation/presentation get very good results. Hourly billing is very expensive so he asks you for quite a bit of information up front. Not cooperating or not getting back to him quickly will see a lot of .2's on your bill for leaving voicemails. However, you get copies of all correspondence and know where your file is at and if you don't he is good at returning your call or meeting with you to explain things. Being from a small town, I know many of his clients are simply from referrals.
