I spent thousands of dollars, expecting positive results. Initially, I was under the impression that he was striving to attain the best results for me. After weeks of his procrastination, I spoke to him on the phone and did not recognize i was his client nor did he have any recollection of my file. If you want to have garbage representation for a divorce, then hire Karim. 0/10.

When I walked into the offices of Karim Mawani, I met a distinguished and learned gentleman of the law whose integrial existence walked in accordance with his judicial conscience of conduct engrained with integrity, honesty, trust, and a compassionate passion to serve the greater good of the people. Respected by the courts. Mawani must stop getting his relatives to write these reviews. He is the worst divorce lawyer out there. Just worried about replenishing trust account.Will drag divorce out as long as he can, then drop you if you disagree with his views. Poorest excuse for a family lawyer people, run from this clown.

I have nothing but GOOD to say about the professionalism of Karim and his Marvelous assistant. He is very knowledgeable, (Harvard Educated) well mannered, and honest. He is calm, collected, and sharp during mediation. His practice is small and quaint which gives you a comfortable feeling that you are not paying his overhead. Calls and communication have been tremendous , and have always been returned in a timely manner. (Unlike my previous lawyers!!) He definitely is a family man , and has a big heart when it comes to your kids. Definitely puts them first!! One important thing I did noticed is that he is respected by the judges in the Edmonton courts. With this recipe I was able to obtain the exact outcome I was seeking.

Excellent ! Meeting Karim, was the best thing that ever happened to our family! He is smart, very hard working, always ready for court and is extremely knowledgable. He always did what was best for the kids. His assistant is awesome and very helpful. Karim always returned our phone calls and email. He is great in court and the judges respect him. We will recommend him to all our friends.

Horrible lawyer, worst reputation as known for dragging things out forever, being disorganized & clueless. Doesn't respond to emails or is prepared for court. He's a trainwreck & joke as a "mediator"! RUN!!

I've seen many lawyers in the past 4years where I tried to defend myself. Mr. Mawani is by far, by FAR the best out there. He's respected by the Courts, known as the 'new sheriff in town'. Composed, well spoken and most of all, he actually cares. On our last case management he 'impressed' the Courts like you only see in the movies. That win will set a precedence on many issues such as allegations and Francophone Education rights. I was refered there by a great friend of mine. After I thanked God for all the help, he was the first person I call. I thanked him from the bottom of my heart. His assistant as so been a life saver on a few occasions. My son's best interest as no price that I wouldn't pay for. I've paydd way less than all of my friends who have used lawyers before and my son got what he deserved. There are no words that would appropriately describe how I feel right now and how graceful that I had the chance to have such a man come into my life.

I believe my divorce would be done if he was not involved. He likes to poke the bear. That is his favorite tactic and saying I hear. I am shocked that he is a conflict resolution human. I find him such an antagonizer like no other.

Really, really GREAT lawyer! He is honest about your options and what is worth arguing over and what isn't. He doesn't fight just for the sake of fighting in order to pad his bill, like other lawyers, and he really looked out for me to make sure things were fair and right. Definitely recommend!

In my opinion the worst, a soft spoken bully, vindictive. fragile ego, I could go on. You be the judge, a completely amicable, un-contested divorce, 3 years, $30,000.00, still not finished as he dropped me before he finalized the separation agreement.

Karim assisted me through a complicated and frustrating custody battle. His approach was always of the child first and of the highest ethical pedigree. I've recommended him to other friends and they would say the same. If you want a lawyer that will extract blood just for the sake of claiming victory in spite of the other party, he is not for you. If you want someone that will act in your best interests with an ounce of ethics and self respect, I recommend him without reservation. He was commended numerous times by court justices for his fair and firm approach and his work to bring disputes to a workable solution outside of the court room is unrivalled.

I agree wholeheartedly with the other comments. Karim has copied me on several emails and letters to my spouse's lawyer that I have had to correct because he has simply not kept up with the correspondence. His replies were based on outdated or just plain incorrect assumptions. It has become extremely costly, because he deducted from my retainer for every letter and email, even when they went out incorrect and when they were correcting his own errors. Rather than admitting faults and errors, he argues his point, not seeing his own responsibility. He is charming, but truly a waste of time as a lawyer.

Zero tenacity. Why would he be tenatious at $300 per hour? He dragged my divorce out for four years and $42,000 in fees before I finally fired him and represented myself. The results improved remarkably from then on. Save your money. Become familiar with the applicable acts and the CANLII case law database and represent yourself. This guy is a waste of money.
