Deborah has a lot of knowledge in family law and can answer questions without research. She was aggressive when needed to be and offered good advice. I would recommend her if you want to get things resolved.

I used Ms. Ditchfield for my custody/divorce. We went to court once and got little resolved. My ex wife wanted a battle and Deborah did little to shorten the battle. Months later she gave me a bill for over $25000.00 !! All I got was a full box of papers. Had I continued to use Deborah I am sure it would have cost me double. With a bill for $25000 she still hadn't gotten me 1/2 of the house chattels. No division of investments rrsps etc.... Over billing is her real skill. I later saw a old friend from high school and she told me Deborah had billed her $80000 and the case still wasn't settled ! Ridiculous !! Just a thief plain and simple !!!!

Deborah and her team did an amazing job supporting me through the entire process of separation, divorce and custody proceedings. My circumstances were complicated, as we had to deal with issues half a province away; however, Deborah and her team kept my child's welfare and our best interests at the forefront, and ensured that we were taken care of. Ms. Ditchfield was recommended to me by 2 different individuals. She is highly knowledgeable about family law and is also trained in mediation. She does not believe in going to court if not necessary and I found her to always be fair. She is also empathetic to some of the unpleasant situations that may arise with separations. I would recommend Ms. Ditchfield as your family lawyer.

I can’t imagine how I would’ve gotten through this without the support, advice, counsel, and determination of Deborah. She came highly recommended by a friend of mine and I am so thankful that I got in touch with her. Deborah and her team are incredibly supportive. She gave me the full picture and advice on different options. She helped me persevere when the situation became more and more difficult, and helped me reinforce much needed boundaries with my ex. I had an emergency situation at one point on a Saturday and she immediately text me and guided me on the appropriate steps to take. She also reminded me of what was fair and reasonable, not just for my kids, but also for me (recognizing the value I had contributed to my relationship). Debra staunchly fought for me in an extremely difficult interprovincial case, and between her and an associate named Stephanie, the case was brought to a satisfactory conclusion. It was a lengthy situation that lasted the better part of 15 years. The dogged determination Debra and Stephanie displayed, would have in most cases been expected to dwindle over time, but not the case here. I will be forever grateful to these two ladies, as they gave me my life back!

Just finished custody battle for grandchild. Even though Ms Ditchfield took over our case after our original lawyer passed away she was soon up to date and knowledgeable about our case. Debra and her excellent team worked hard to get the best outcome we could have hoped for. Very professional and showed great empathy for her clients. Determined to do her best for our family. Excellent Family Lawyer. I would highly recommend her. She is incredibly knowledgeable any professional while at the same time caring and considerate. she may have worked hard to build a good reputation but she is now completely apathetic and complacent and as another reviewer wrote "useless". Repeated failed to deliver on promises made and became openly hostile with me when I questioned her tactics and lack of strategy and rather than try to come to terms basically told me to go pound sand and find another lawyer if I didn't like how she did things and so I did exactly that and new lawyer was fantastic and we got more results after 6 weeks than I had gotten from Ditchfield after 1 1/2 years and $40000

Can't imagine anyone not being completely satisfied with Debra. She didn't overpromise but she over-delivered. I know I wasn't her only client but she never let me down even when she was helping others. I would definitely use her again.

Was told that Deborah Ditchfield was a great family lawyer. I was so disapointed with her and her performance. My case was put on hold as she failed to tell me she was having surgery. So half way through my case was a standstill and still she charged me. I had to go with another lawyer. Plus the woman my ex had an affair with was an employee at her firm. There are better lawyers to use please think twice before using her

I found Debra to be knowledgeable & very easy to work with. I always was told the best & worst scenarios so I always knew what to expect She was respectful kind & understanding. She was prompt with communications with me as well as with my exes lawyer. Debra's legal assistant was also great to work with. I hired Deborah because I had heard great things about her. She must not of liked me because she was useless. I could of done a better job myself. And her secretary is rude and always talked to me like I was stupid. Would never use Deborah or her firm ever again.

When I walked into Deborah's office for the first time I was 4 years into a complex custody and support battle. A seemly short number of months later we have settled all matters. I feel like I have finally gotten my life back. A scenario that wouldn't have been possible if not for her dedication to my case combined with her experience and solid advice. Trusting another person with the lives of myself and my child is not one that I take lightly and I'm sure I was, at times, difficult but she was always patient. The family law system is overwhelming to say the least, however, I always felt informed. There were no surprises along the way. I cannot imagine a more important battle than the one for your children.
