Stay away - stay far away! You will pay excessive amounts for this lawyer who will spend all your money preparing to go to court and then try to get you to settle on the other sides terms. She always seemed too scared to go to court.

Georgina provided excellent service and advice. She made a point of knowing the file well and understanding what was best for my kids. We were successful at every stage, including involving the Office of the Children's Lawyer, and this led to a custody arrangement which has worked out great for everyone. We avoided trial through some difficult negotiations, and had a fair settlement on financial issues. We now have an excellent framework going forward and things are much better with my ex-spouse and the kids. Georgina's firm was also very fair and understanding with billing practices which was much appreciated. I highly recommend Georgina.

Divorce is a terrible time for all concerned-the lengthy process to make the decision to end a marriage, and then the rollercoaster ride known as family law. In Georgina Carson,I have always felt that I found a lawyer who was both compassionate and understanding, in addition to the obvious-an excellent, highly competent professional. Throughout this very stressful time, I have never had a question that she was always working with my best interests at heart, while making sure that I clearly understood the reality of the benefits and the limitations of any kind of action. She has been a very patient advisor to someone who knew next to nothing about the legal system. At each step Georgina was careful to remind me of the big picture and insure that I didn't get caught in a situation where I "won the battle but lost the war".
Georgina's suggestion of mediation rather than court was both cost effective and successful. The entire process was less than 2 years, and I am very grateful to her.

Requiring a divorce lawyer is not something any of us wish for. But when you're in that circumstance, finding a divorce lawyer who is deeply knowledgeable, widely respected, genuinely compassionate and caring - but also a tireless tiger when it comes to advocating for her client and fighting for what's right - well, that's a wish answered. I have known Georgina to respond within MINUTES to a request for help in a genuine emergency. I would and have recommended her to others.

Although claims to subscribe to the collaborative approach, is more interested in going to trial than acting in the best interest of her client. Interesting to read previous postings both involved cases that lasted five years. Has difficulty reading and understanding straightforward financial statements. Misinterprets facts. Cites non-applicable precedent routinely. Very adept at promoting and maintaing a fight, that is, until the funds run out. A dangerous practitioner in a loosely controled profession.

My court experience was a battle that took more than 5 years, thanks to the repeated, vexatious actions of my ex, who went through more than 3 sets of lawyers, was self-represented for long periods, refused to discuss settlement and took his bad behaviour so far that he was arrested and criminally charged for his terrifying actions against me. It was absolutely horrific and through it all, Georgina stood by me, even when she was personally threatened by him! She helped me believe that the truth would prevail. The truth and justice did indeed prevail and though he then dragged us through the Court of Appeals, my decision was upheld. I have wondered many times what I would have done if I did not have such a smart, caring, sensitive and compassionate lawyer! Georgina is wonderful and cares about people far beyond just the facts in a case. I will be forever grateful that she was recommended to me and can wholeheartedly recommend her to you!
