Hiring Jane Hoffman was a HUGE MISTAKE. Her poor reputation and performance proved to be an ongoing disaster, costing us our time & money but, most importantly, our sanity.
Jane's inability to follow clear, handwritten instructions is inexcusable. Her repeated spelling errors and basic incompetence is alarming. She consistently made unauthorized content additions. We had to constantly correct her work and manage her behavior.
Her communication was appalling. She was completely unreachable for SIX CONSECUTIVE MONTHS, ignoring our numerous calls, emails, and texts. Her team only contacted us when payment was due, demonstrating a complete disregard for professional responsibility. Upon realizing our dissatisfaction and the imminent termination of her services, she abandoned the project, making false accusations and displaying extreme disrespect and unprofessionalism towards all parties involved.
It’s terrifying she is allowed to hold a professional license and operate a practice.

This is a lawyer that creates conflict to make money. Jane's practice is known in Calgary to be a highly abusive law firm. Please do your research by calling other firms and asking about Jane's poor reputation in Calgary. Her retainer is 8000.00 and her hourly rate is 650.00 and her billing style is aggressive and very proactive, so don't expect any assets left when you are done. Jane is unethical and dishonest Calgary Family Lawyer. Value your children's life above all else, avoid this firm. Avoid this Family Lawyer.

Smart and really knows the system but bills are excessive and she's so busy that in my case things fell between the cracks. I signed agreements on her advice I shouldn't have which have now handicapped me for years. sorry but can't recommend.

don't waste your time hiring this lawyer! just about the $$$$; and will add more fees than you can imagine. spend your money hire a good accountant to determine your financial. draft your agreements yourself, and hire a lawyer to review.

This woman does not care about children, or the devastating effects of actions she initiates as a lawyer for a cruel partner. She exacerbates conflict, and participates in emotional and psychological abuse as part of her tactics for her client. She does not follow the ethics of her profession.

Now that I am past this experience I see how much I was manipulated by Jane Hoffman. Horrible person. The judge wouldn't even read the stuff she so 'carefully' prepared for me. My bill was about three times what it should have been and was so terrible I had to start over from scratch when I went to another lawyer...and paid far less with them. I would recommend never to use her for anything. There are way more ethical lawyers. Some even know what they are doing.

I guess it all depends what side of the fence you are on! Ms. Hoffman proved to be an exceptional lawyer for my case. She was professional and direct in how she dealt with the issues that were clouding and complicating my case and was able to devise a plan that led to closure and the eventual conclusion of my divorce. The anger that I see expressed in the ratings on this page depict a level of frustration that is not the fault of a lawyer but that of individuals that "feel" that something else should have transpired or should have been done! Bottom line is that if you keep your kids out of the divorce and if you can focus on the conclusion of your divorce like "reasonable and rational adults", you will be able to conclude the divorce. As far as "winning"...in a situation like divorce are there truly any winners? And guys, if you reside in Alberta, while there are laws that exist defining what divorce is, do not necessarily confuse that law with the justice you will be served with.

Ms Hoffman is an exceptional lawyer. She is compassionate and cares about more than just winning. She has a longterm vision, based on experience, of what would be most beneficial to all the victims of divorce proceedings and it is not just about the financial aspects. She has an excellent grasp of the law, is extremely efficient and very hardworking. Her staff are helpful and friendly. She can lighten many difficult moments with a bit of humour and is very personable. I highly recommend her.

Jane Hoffman is compansionate, knowledgable and professional in every respect. I would recommend her to everyone who has high conflict cases Her sensitivity and expertise are excellent.
