This woman is absolutely awful and hateful. She will blame me for everything and will sell out to the other side. She is one woman you do not want to spend your money or your time in. The only good ratings she has come from her friends and family, look at the dates they are on the same year. She is arrogant and the worse lawyer you will ever deal with. Read the ratings on this woman and believe them, they are telling you the truth. She is terrible!

Elizabeth Heartwell is absolutely a horrible Lawyer. Although she was getting paid by me, she was constantly accusing me of trying to hide my child from the ex. She never took my side and instead of being sympathetic to my situation, she took the side of the ex. Almost as if she was getting paid by the opposing party. Elizabeth seemed to be best friends with the opposing lawyer and would spend many hours talking to the opposing lawyer while she charged me all of the hours. Be careful with this woman she has a connection with the court with a judge by the last-name Levy. Levy's father owns the practice where Heartwell works and unless you want to be intimidated, Do not use this practice at all. There is a conflict of interest and they are very unethical.

She never gave me answers to my questions, and when pressed for legal answers to basic divorce guidance she was rude and final told me she did not want to represent me in my divorce. Paid her over $3000. to file a few documents and she did not finish my case because I kept asking her to contact the other attorney and ask for a settlement, which she kept putting off, and never asked the other party to discuss a settlement rather than keep dragging it out for months. She never gave me any real legal advice except to tell me what I could not do, instead of what I could do. I am representing myself, and have moved closer to a settlement without her. Do not expect her to represent your side, she only seems to tell you what the other side will not agree to and what you can not do.

She made decisions that my children and I are still paying for and trying to undue to this day and two years later. When I finally confronted her, she conveniently fabricated a blame in writing and waived the balance of my bill.

Hartwell is rude and not trustworthy. She overcharges, has horrific communication ability and is completely unreliable. Does not look out for the best interest of clientele or children involved in cases. Very unprofessional and inadequate.

Elizabeth Hartwell at times was very argumentative. She never seemed to truly care about my child's well-being. Often forgetful and seemed to lose almost everything I sent her. Very hard to get a hold of and in most cases there were extended periods when I was unable to contact her. I did not feel comfortable speaking with Mrs. Hartwell. She sometimes seemed to side with the other party. I wonder if her inexperience or personal issues persuaded Hartwell to lean towards the other party. At times I felt she was against me and not working for me. Bottom line, a person should not fear their lawyer. Because I went with Hartwell's word on something, it has cost my family and I thousands and thousands of dollars, took 3 years to resolve a custody case (which I am very unsatisfied with the results), and due to her negligence I spent almost a year without seeing my child. I would only refer this person to my enemy. :(
