Mr Twietmeyer was involved in a guardianship case, having not specialized in this very narrow and complex area of the law and attempted to litigate where he had no prior experience, leading to a loss. This lead to a significant financial cost to his client. The client having been diagnosed with dementia years earlier suffered greatly from the stress of an unnecessary trial with incompetent representation. Having signed a consent decree that terminated his representation, he continued to attempt fighting issues that had been resolved by the decree. The fact that Mr Twietmeyer would represent a client that was mentally not able to comprehend any of the legal aspects of the case or his representation was unprofessional. His knowledge of the law was limited and often wrong. His representation was a sever detriment to his client.
