After interviewing 3 top Toronto lawyers including Bryan, I knew within 30 minutes of meeting Bryan that he was my top choice. He did not disappoint. My matter was complicated. Bryan was fast and smart with numbers and solutions to the financial issues, but also suggested a pathway to a solution to the custodial issues that worked in the end. I would not hesitate to highly recommend him.

Bryan Smith is one of the best matrimonial lawyers today. There aren’t many. He’s knowledgeable, fair, ethical, and tries his best to meet all the needs in your case. He’s far better than Harold Niman or Darryl Gelgoot. He really knows the law, and will give you the straight bill of goods. He has no incentive to keep your case going. He’s not greedy with his billing either. If you’re looking for a great matrimonial lawyer, Bryan Smith and his great team of lawyers and support staff is the way to go. I highly recommend him.

If I could give a zero or a minus I would. This gentleman could not answer urgent emails for over 2 months leaving us in a financial mess. I have 5 children with abuse and disclosure issues. This person felt since it was Christmas, Santa Claus should hand over children to an abuser and then decided four months later to hit me with costs. I have nothing to show for over a year of trying to mediate with this person. I finally got out of his clutches. If you are an abused woman particularly with children I would run the other way as fast as your legs will carry you. As the police and children's aid advised me - mediation is never the answer. Very rarely are there two reasonable people involved. Not likely the case with an abusive ex husband. Covid brought me here but finally the courts have opened to undo the damage this man was the architect of.

Overpriced and not really effective. He delays the process, does not give any advice to his client. He is overconfident in his abilities but just drags the case with no outcome in sight. I would really not recommend him to anyone who wants to resolve his case quickly.

Brian is an excellent lawyer. He is pricey but well worth it. He is ethical, honest and professional. He tries to eliminate the rhetoric and noise of the litigation and focuses on the important things. He is very strong on finances and numbers. He worked on my spousal and child support and I was able to obtain a satisfactory release. He is well worth the money.

Bryan was competent, very conscientious, knowledgeable and attentive to my case. He and his staff were very professional and his assistant Mary is a true asset. His strength is finances not child custody. I will say beyond a doubt that he is one of the few ethical lawyers left in Toronto. I'm not sure,however, that he he can "think out of the box" for creative suggestions that will advance your case. His fees are very high and mount quickly especially if he utilizes junior staff. He is very detail oriented which becomes problematic if your finances are limited (ie. detail= more hours= more cost.) Overall, I would recommend him and his team but found that his services were too costly to justify the results he gave.

I am surprised by the previous comments. I found this lawyer to be poorly motivated, lacked articulation at the court who managed to lose the winning case, not to mention being highly overpriced for the value provided. Will not recommend him.

I waisted my time when I hired him. When I called him most of the time hi didn't answer. After a few days later he called me back and every singel time I had to explain my matter from the biginning. If I didn't agree with him in something he yelled with me. He has no patience at all. He didn't achive anything for me.

Very good! Had great temperament and really understood my needs. I originally started with some lawyers from basman smith but I was unsatisfied with them, as I found then rather cold hearted and just interested in the money.

Hiring Mr Smith was the best decision i ever ever made.I agree he is super professional,smart,organized ,efficiantand gets results.Bryan Smith restored my faith that there are good ethical lawyers out there after several bad experiences prior.He is expesive however i think in the end cost efficient since he makes things actually happen.I can not thank him or his staff enough!

I used Bryan 4 years ago in a common law spousal support case. I found him to be highly professional. He has excellent communication skills and is very knowledgeable and dependable. I was very pleased with his services.

Awesome lawyer. He blows Harold Niman away with his professionalism, communication and billing. You will not find better. I watched 5 different high profile lawyers in action and Bryan is the best. The most wonderful thing about him is he doesn't nickle and dime you working on paperwork that has no bearing on the case like all the rest.
