Ms. Rittberg did an excellent job as the law guardian for my daughter in Nassau Family Court in two cases (1996-97) and (2003-06). She was honest, competent and had my daughter's best interest at heart. She wasn't swayed by all the mud thrown my way by opposing counsel and the forensic psychologist but steadily continued advocating for my daughter's best interests. I understand that Ms. Rittberg stopped working in Nassau Family Court after a political agenda that was very damaging to women and to the poor took hold in Nassau Family Court. (NFC began taking custody away from any mother whose children had a gainfully employed father; NFC wanted to reduce the number of moms applying and qualifying for public benefits and also reduce the number of dads they had to spend time and money chasing for child support. That is the recent political agenda in NFC. Evidently, when Ms. Rittberg saw what was happening there, she took the high road and got out.
