This is a good lawyer. I hired him for a relative and while the outcome could easily have been "more difficult", Dana fought for him and the prosecution relented. Not easy to get to know but, having been, by his own testimony, a presecutor and likes a good fight, he "knows his way around". Thank-you Dana

I've used Dana Carlson for real estate transactions and also a divorce, and on every occasion he did excellent work for me. Even for other various legal matters/questions I've had throughout the years, Dana has provided good/sound advice which has actually saved me either money or time.

I have never regretted anything more than hiring Carlson. Seems to either have low comprehension or is simply manipulative for his own financial gain. Simple questions like, "could you clarify this charge on my bill or, why haven't you included an exchange rate in support" were met with long blank stares and attempts to change the topic. Drones on about nothing. Seems disinterested (or incompetent - hard to tell if it's an act). Doesn't appear to have a firm grasp on law. Could side with opposing council (like he did with me). Won't answer email. Made an absolute mess of my case.

Stereotypical bottom feeder divorce attorney – don’t use if you have kids. He is the kind of lawyer that views children as possessions to be gained or lost in an argument

Mr. Carlson cares a heck if a lot about his clients and is consistently honest. I was very happy with how he was able to settle my case. I would recommend him to anyone going through a family law situation.

Dana took my divorce case/arbitrarily decided on the spousal support amount. He joke saying that after my ex wife takes it all, I won't have to pay taxes. Knew next to nothing about govt retirement. Handed me off to a subordinate and then to another, younger subordinate who calculated spousal support for the fifth time wanting me to provide the numbers. I wasted six months of attorney fees and got nowhere and so I told the attorney to cease and decist(sp?) and he continued to bill me. The sub. even charged me for 1.5 hours trip to the court when a simple phone call would have sufficed. He could not take the threats and badgering of opposing counsel, Nan Joseph, and he fired me (after I fired him). Wasted about $35,000 on this company and got nowhere with the divorce.They did not object to opposing counsel getting a judge to demand I copy 43 years of marriage records and a business with thousands of checks and four full file cabinets and all computer data and every thumb drive.

This attorney was very eager to reccomend mediation, which in itself looked good, however, after opposing counsel refused the idea, he was very slow with the litigation process. As a matter of fact, never served the divorce petition after it was filed in the court. Follow through on important issues like that caused my fees to rise. He also represented himself as being knowlegeable in military retirement issues, however, upon study done on my part, he was wrong on issues of retirement pay and maintenance of insurance.

I don't normally take the time to do ratings but my brief opportunity to work with Dana was worth mentioning. He was compassionate and actually spent twice the alloted amount of time we set aside. His recommendation to work through a qualified mediator was a perfect solution for my problem and resulted in quick and painless resolution in my family law matter. The fact that he offered an inexpensive and effective solution outside of going to court was something I didn't expect and certainly do appreciate.

Over litigious. He is too willing to argue minute points in court at great cost to all parties instead of working for amicable agreements that benefit all outside of court especially when children are involved. I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone with a child issue unless you want to completely destroy any working relationship with the other party involved and put undue stress on the child.
