Ed Gallagher is a former military officer that generally gets his business from his ties to the military. He has tied to the Lord Strathcona Horse (Royal Canadians) Foundation and operates a partnership with his wife. He doesn't charge by the hour, but dont let that fool you. His rates for projects or steps are generally in the $350/hour range. He is non confrontational - good if you want to avoid trial. However if you need someone a bit more tenacious - look elsewhere. He made some mistakes regarding Sect 7 expenses in a settlement agreement. One would expect this from a more junior family lawyer. I also had an e-mail from his firm that was not related to my case.
