Kenneth Hawco is a great lawyer, very helpful and I highly recommend him.
Kenneth has been my lawyer for over 20 years, when he was recommended by a friend and I was being evicted. He kept me from getting evicted from my Chelsea NYC apartment and achieved getting a rent stabilized lease in my name.
I have called him on numerous occasion since then about a multitude of problems with my apartment - from mold, to harassment to leave---he has ALWAYS answered my calls and emails (or promptly called me back) with the best advice as well as communicated for me directly to the landlord with the best results for me.
Without him I am sure I would not have the security of my home for my family.
He is exemplary and admirable.

I referred Mr. Hawco to a friend needing help with an eviction notice. Having known that Mr. Hawco had helped another friend with a similar issue, and was successful, I was confident he would deliver another great result. And p.s., he did!! I have known Mr. Hawco for many years. He is attentive, professional and knows the law. I highly recommend him for any of your legal needs.

In 2015 I hired Kenneth Hawco on the recommendation of a friend because my landlord sued me. He won the case and even got our landlord to pay all legal costs!
He responded to all my phone calls either by phone or email, advised me through the process and prepared me for what to expect. Throughout Hawco was attentive, informative, and his knowledge was reassuring.
I continue to reach out to him with tenant questions, most recently about having pets and not only did he send me an excerpt of the pet law, he replied with links to cases!
I wholeheartedly recommend this tenant attorney because he knows the law, is a straight shooter, charges a fair fee and IF possible will fight to get your fees paid by the landlord.

I was being evicted for being out of apartment caring for my terminally ill mother. Atty Hawco agreed to take on my case but did not reply for 8 days to answer questions. He apologized & said he was "sick" for a week. Fine. He told me to wait for court date. I was served with legal papers on 1/8/15 w/ court date 1/13/15. I called & left an urgent, detailed message for Atty Hawco..but HE NEVER RESPONDED. I almost defaulted but adjorned case. I called Hawco again. He returned my call on 1/18/15, 10 DAYS LATE! (Do you notice a pattern here?) He said he decided not to handle my case but would not explain why he didn't tell me weeks prior & why he ignored my calls. HOW SELFISH, HOW LACKING IN EMPATHY & HOW UNPROFESSIONAL CAN AN ATTY BE? I have no idea what issues or problems would cause Atty Hawco to display such blatant neglect but its simply not acceptable! His selfish actions just might cause me to be evicted from my home! Shame on you Atty Hawco! Think twice before you hire this guy!
