After a lenghty Separation and numerous Consultation with other Family Lawyers,I was feeling confused and frustrated. That's when I located David on the internet, met with him and found myself drawn to his level of expertise not to mention his pleasant demeanor. I decided to retained him on the spot.
As my Family Lawyer, David was very easy to work with and I grew to trust him implicitly. His hard work, sound knowledge, patience, guidance and strategic decisions on my file have been very impressive, not to mention how many times he had gone over and beyond to make sure we achieve the best possible outcome.
I am extremely appreciative and will be forever grateful for all David has done to help me get my life back on track and effectively have my Divorce granted (in less than a year). I truly can't thank you enough David!!

David Sherr is a phenomenal lawyer who knows his stuff! From the first day I spoke with him on the phone he made me feel so at ease. He broke down the process step by step and he has extremely great Knowledge which made me feel even more comfortable from day one. With his personable demeanour and knowledge in family law. He responds to emails quickly and follows up with opposing council. David is the lawyer you want (or rather need) on your case! David has a special touch in the way he lays out the law and points out speceifics that would be in your favor. He is quite fair and advises you that his fees are by the hour so unless its is necessary dont contact to incur unnecessary fees. David provided support and advise throughout my entire case. He has an approach of sticking to the facts to move things along. He id definitely highly recommended without hesitation.

David Sherr has been a phenomenal lawyer to work with. He made me feel comfortable from day one with his personable demeanour and knowledge in family law. He outlined the key areas to be resolved in my case and got to it right away. He is ethical, professional and very efficient. He responds promptly to emails and follows up with opposing council to move things forward. David was wonderful at explaining any process I did not understand and answering my many questions. He was there to advise and support me through the whole process. I felt confident in him, which made the whole process a lot less daunting for me. His approach to settling property division was fair and efficient. We were able to settle in just a matter of months! I’m still astonished by what he was able to accomplish for me in such a short time. I would not hesitate to highly recommend David to anyone. He is absolutely a phenomenal lawyer.

If you want a nice guy to listen to you and nod his head, then get a therapist. They’re cheaper and just as ineffectual. David was out of his depth in my case from the beginning. He recommended I “assume the best” of my ex, which is possibly the worst advice a lawyer can give a client who’s being outmaneuvered by a wealthy sociopath. After two years with no movement and constant delays, I fired David, hired a downtown firm and within four weeks had a signed settlement awarding me millions in family property as well as a lump-sum payment of $1.5 million more than what David had said I should expect. Over twice as much. Literally. Both the mediator and my new attorney said his handling bordered on negligence. He didn’t even file for interim support on my behalf (I didn’t know this was even possible) and let my ex manipulate me with ad hoc support payments and threats for two years of my life. I cannot stress enough to run hard in the opposite direction from this nice, personable lawyer.

David was on the opposite side of a case I was involved with that was high conflict. While knowledgable about the law and technically accurate, he was very difficult to deal with, unreasonable in the positions he advocated for his client and seemed to side with his client far too much. He was more interested in scoring points, in my view, with the court than in doing the just thing for the case. Very disappointing and not what was expected at all.

David very carefully led me through a high conflict separation and peacefully settled the case. Looking back, I can't believe how far I've come, only thanks to David. He is full of empathy - very easily accessible and patient, promptly answering every email and guiding through- it felt like he was there with me in those darkest times. He came up with a very creative and cost effective parenting schedule with focus on the children. David has integrity - he understood my tough financial situation and set up a creative payment agreement, which other lawyers never utilized. He also lowered my costs, which is unheard of from a lawyer. David is always prepared - he brings well-researched Case Law examples in court to validate his legal point. David is so skillful, carefully analyzing all evidence. He is purposefully allowing time for certain things, yet when needed, he acts super quickly (e.g. bringing an emergency motion). He has calm demeanor and uses gentle humor. Truly exceptional!

David helped me with a very difficult separation that including a long process of finalizing a parenting plan. Throughout the process, he was unwavering in his advocating for my rights and very skillful in communicating with the opposing counsel and my former partner so as to help bring us to agreement on each issue, as quickly and painlessly as possible. He is very knowledgeable and has an excellent eye for detail. He caught things in the drafts of the separation agreement that could have caused significant problems later. He was also very personable and easy to work with in all respects, and he was very efficient in his work and available when I needed to speak or meet with him. Most important of all was the outcome: I got the parenting plan that I sought from the very beginning.

Most of the time, Family Law matters are messy. I came to David after parting ways with a very expensive previous counsel. David is very knowledgeable, efficient with billable time, level-headed, goal-oriented, and focused. I had initially retained David for one specific contentious issue related to my matter that needed to be dealt with at that time. By the time we were through, the entire matter had been settled outside of court. Highly recommend.

Top scores across the board! David has been a voice or reason and a tremendous partner to guide me through my separation and new life. He was respectful and professional. He asked what I wanted to accomplish. He told me the goal is realistic and fair and we worked towards a fair and equitable outcome. Though he specializes in family law and has seen it all, he was calm, cool and insightful as it related to how to deal with joint custody, division of assets and kept the interests of the children always on the table when making decisions about the future. He provided advise on what is reasonable for shared custody, how far apart to live, tax implications to consider and vacations to name a few. David appreciated how it was impacting me and was a voice of reason too. He was not afraid to tell me if I was being unreasonable. David helped by being effective and efficient as we navigated a difficult situation and I thank him for it.

David was the best. I had a few lawyers while going through my divorce and David Sherr was a better defender than all the rest. He explained everything to the fullest details, not that he yaps on and on; but he makes sure you know and understand how things work and what you need to know. He even tried to minimize my expense during the process. Other lawyers would not care to save you money or reduce how much money they could get out of you, and believe me I know because I had other lawyers before; but David was honest, hard working, and persistent. David is amazing. For the past 5 years the parenting agreement hadn't been followed and we still have paralyzing personality conflict to the point of gridlock in terms of communication. We reached a new Final order, after 2 years in court and it was broken within the month, at which point I actually used this site and found David. He has a deep knowledge of the law, and uses it fairly, while diligently and thoroughly structuring the case to achieve a strong outcome for the child. With our case he was quick to offer a neutrally beneficial solution to the other party that would have been swift and cost effective, but escalated our request as necessary, applying pressure but also frequent lifeboats in this process. It could have ended reasonably at any time with his approach (and probably should have). The other lawyer was poorly prepared by her client and David was able to assert our position, achieving a consent to 75% of our costs. He picked up on really important nuance in court too.

I was so lucky to be referred to David by a friend and he helped me throughout my separation. I went to David confused and felt hopeless. But David’s approach of being honest, straightforward, and supportive made me believe I am in good hands and he had my family’s best interest at his hand.

While there were lawyers that seemed more aggressively certain of achieving a certain outcome, I chose David because I had the sense that he operated from a strong ethical base that prized fairness, grounded legal knowledge in an unhurried, compassionate, supportive way. Seeing as this is one of the most difficult things I've experienced, and it presumed much loss, David's calm, steady ability to listen deeply, offer appropriate courage and support while understanding the ins and outs of my case steadied the process. David's constitution for fairness preserved a vision for my post-pain future. One where I know I will feel good about the outcome for both myself, my partner and what we shared between us. From this perspective, I felt that David was who I wanted in my corner for the me I was fighting for. Which is to say the me in two years, five years, ten years. He's not the first lawyer I've had during my 5 years of battling in court however, he is the first one I've met that I can say is truly a selfless human being. I was very pleased with this personable young man. David went out of his field to help me in my time of need when others seemingly more suited to the task turned me down.
