I had my prenup done with Kevin recently, and I would highly recommend him as a lawyer. He is an expert on family law, and he is a great communicator. Hi there Family Law is not where it should be granted. The courts system in Canada is very poor to say the least. When I hired the firm in 2015 I retained Mr Groves as the attorney. I spent $35000 in fees only to find out Mr. Groves had added the word "Suspended" to my Divorce agreement. Well I did not realize that even after hiring Mr. Michael Long from the same firm in 2017 to amend this error which stops regular access for my children I was unsuccessful. I have even approached Mr. Groves with regards to this matter with very little sympathy. I would not be happy recommending this Lawyer to anyone for any services.

Kevin was a welcome breath of fresh air following one and a half years of ineffective support from a very expensive downtown (partner) lawyer. He is confident yet appropriately humble, exceptionally intelligent and incredibly efficient, and kind in his up front but honest directives in guiding you through the sometimes convoluted navigation of family law. Separation and divorce can be an overwhelming life experience but I whole-heartedly will assert that the eventual resolution, including avoiding court (which is both emotionally and financially significant), combined with the peace of mind that follows, was largely a result of Kevin’s support and guidance, intellect and pragmatism, education and experience.

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I found myself in Kevin’s office shortly after separating from my spouse. I was at a loss of where to begin and found comfort in Kevin’s expertise and guidance. He listened to my case and we developed a strategy based on my specific situation. Kevin was very transparent with the potential outcomes of whatever action I chose to take. He was very accommodating to my schedule with evening appointments and very efficient with his time, which is nice since his time is money.

I feel Kevin lacks integrity and was thoroughly unimpressed with his lack of preparation. His overconfidence at first had me sold that he would be the right lawyer, however this was very much a front. He assured me that we had a great case against my ex yet he failed to educate himself on my case. He was completely unprepared and made myself and him look foolish in court. This was a case of me feeling like I had been ripped off and walked over. He repeatedly submitted affidavit after affidavit and explained his method was to "drown" my ex in paperwork. This backfired at my expense, even though I did not agree with the method in the first place. His presence was unprofessional and he appeared to be more of a bully than a respectable lawyer. Do yourself a favour and interview a lawyer that's morals are aligned with your own. He took unnecessary measures to put me in a bigger mess than I was when this all began.

Kevin knows family law inside and out, and he uses that knowledge skillfully in order to obtain the best outcome for clients. Furthermore, he is extremely hardworking, and consistently goes above and beyond for his clients. I would recommend Kevin in a heartbeat! As a family member of one of his clients my observation is that Kevin conducts himself in a professional manner, is hard working and very knowledgeable. He clearly communicated the potential options, the possible outcomes and the process very clearly. He was good at cutting through the emotional issues and getting to the heart of the legal matters while still listening and demonstrating an understanding of my sister's situation. He was hired in the last 2 years of an ugly 10 year journey and represented my sister well. An agreement was reached in mediation which saved huge court costs if the trial would have continued. It was also nice to observe his personable side and the judges appreciation towards him in their short exchange on the last day in court.

I was halfway through a 6 year custody battle when I was fortunate to find Kevin Groves, First Kevin's understanding of current technology meant soon my boxes of files were stored electronically. My files were organized and easily accessed; this greatly reduced my court costs as my affidavits were prepared in much less time. Before hiring Kevin I had attempted numerous times to obtain an order for a 211 report in order to vary our original custody order. Kevin successfully arranged the 211 report through court proceedings and negotiations which resulted in an order for me to be primary care giver. I was able to save the costs of going to trial!. At no time did I feel Kevin was in it for the money but instead was focused on bringing a resolution quickly. My only regret was not having Kevin as my attorney from the very beginning. I would highly recommend Kevin Groves to anyone who needs help navigating through our legal system.

Kevin is very poor he strategy is to front end load his clients with fake promises and he takes advantage of their emotions and lack of knowledge with legal proceedings he tricks them I to writing unwarranted affidavits uses a very standard strategy of flooding the court system with affidavits so he can front end load his billing before his clients realize they are not getting the service they require he use to be a former prosecutor who could not survive in that field and had to default to family law be very very careful about his deceptive strategies to get his money the first 6 months of your issue

If you are looking for a lawyer who knows his stuff through n through, has no problem playing hard ball, and will find a way to get you everything that you're entitled to (and most likely more), then your search stops here. He was quick to reply, he made time for me right away, and he laid out a clear plan of action when I wasn't sure which steps should be taken. I can definitely say that Kevin is in it to win it.

I found this lawyer to be extremely unprofessional, lacked knowledge , was unprepared, and had the overall impression of someone who didn't know their stuff considering I was beat in court by someone who was self represented. I would not ever recommend using his services, you would be better off reading Law for Dummies and representing yourself.

Kevin is very knowledgeable in the family law practice since it's his primary area, this is a must for picking any Family Law lawyer. His communication skills are way above the industry norm. He was the 2nd lawyer I retained but from the start I felt like a priority not just another client. Kevin works extremely hard for his clients, and if you work with him and put in just some of the effort he exerts into your own case you'll be extremely happy. When I was separating with my partner it was Christmas time. I contacted several Family Law firms in order to get a consultation ASAP due to the nature of my situation. Kevin was the ONLY one who responded personally despite being out of town with family. I met with a few lawyers as well as Kevin, but when I left his office I KNEW he was the one for the job because I knew he would handle my case with care, compassion & dedication despite there not being any "money" to win. He kept me up to date through the entire process, was very prompt at responding to any questions or concerns I had & was very transparent. He worked extremely hard to settle my dispute with the other side using several different methods. Both he & his assistant Michelle showed empathy & sympathy which is hard to find in this line of work. He Attorney work with Aaron Lessing, and he work as he work. Minimise your case do wath he want and they dont care what you want. Ih is more interesting by the billing than your case. Kevin has always taken the time to really help me. He wears his heart on his sleeve. I was in dire need of him 2 days ago as I was being arrested on false allegations of assault . He took the time to connect with my family to assure them that he was looking out for me. Even though he is a lawyer he feels like more of a friend that actually cares about family and I. He has a straightforward style and a no nonsense approach to family law. He answered all my questions and even let me ask "what if" type questions that had little to do with my family law issues. Even returned some money to me after the divorce was done. Very professional.
