Carla Adams is the worst kind of cheat. She takes advantage of women who are going through the worst in their life and she kicks them exactly where it hurts the client. She never replies to any of my correspondences and we follow up multiple times she will respond once in 10-15 follow-ups. When I got the bill, Carla charged me $30 for each email I had sent her as a follow-up asking her for a status update. This woman is a cheat and takes advantage of people in distress. She recently bought a new office and of course, she can because she is charging her clients for the time her clients spend in sending Carla the follow-up to get a status update. I have been with her since November 2021 and my file has not progressed even one bit. When I asked her to close my file and return my retainer fees she sent me a bill of $5500 and asked me to pay her over 2K in her fees which is a 4-page invoice of charges for the emails I sent her to check on the status updates. What a con artist. BEWARE!

I've found Carla Adams on the LAO website to have her help me with my divorce.Being new to all this I called her and explained my case, with no hesitation she told me I had a strong case so she scheduled an appointment to meet with her.I resided in Wasaga Beach. When we met I explained my situation, she left me with the impression that she understood my situation and agreed that I had legal grounds.She knew the whole time that my case would be in Simcoe County(Barrie Court).I postponed the case because I was being threatened and intimidated by my ex and his family.So just this past year I had moral support from my boyfriend to go after my ex and out of the blue Carla had called,so I took it as a sign to go forward.Turns out she advised me of a limitation period that was expiring back in April so she made me relive my 17 year marriage that was pure mental and physical abuse which put me in manic depression to relive the story again, and also complete all the paperwork in a crazy rush...

I'm almost positive this woman gets paid by Children's services. I nor has anyone else that's been involved with CAS that I know of had a good experience. Unfortunately, I was on a time crunch to find a lawyer so I chose the first one that said they'd help. What a huge mistake on my part. It was assumed that she knew what she was doing, having gone through law school and such. It turns out that I could have represented myself better than she had.

Carla did an excellent job I'm my family matter and treated me and my children like a family,. She took time out of her busy schedule to see me after working ours to accommodate me. Carla proved that she is not just great lawyer, but also a wonderful human being. I highly recommend her! The only drawback was that the matter took longer than I anticipated, but in the end everything was settled to my satisfaction. Thank you Carla!

Carla is a great lawyer and a good communicator. She helped me with my CAS court case and getting a family court order for my youngest child. I would use her again but hopefully I don't have to.

This woman is a horrible lawyer. While up against the CAS, she didn't present the evidence provided to her, stating it was "irrelevant". Did not request drug screening to alleviate concerns when CAS was ignoring my request, again, stating it was "irrelevant". Suggested I sign open adoption papers because I wasn't going to win any way. I threatened to fire her because she wasn't doing her job, she started doing as I requested and in my settlement conference stated "my client is trying" instead of "here's evidence of what was asked and completed". Seriously, stay far, FAR away

I found that she is very rude, she barely communicates with me as a client. She is like a child in the law system. If you are looking for a shark in the court to win your case and care about putting in the needed hours for you to feel important, then I feel you should look else where. She claims that she wins more than 75% of her family laws cases yet can't show proof of her good verdicts. If you value your children and don't want to lose them to Children's Aid Society, I would defiantly not choose Carla Adams!! I can only hope that Carla Adams takes her job more seriously after seeing this review. She needs to be more approachable to her clients and do whatever it takes, including long hours of research to get her clients their children back. As a mother herself, she "should" understand the importance of the bond between a mother and her children. And yet she sits on the side lines. Repeating the need to say " The best defence is a good offence".
