My husband had got a ticket for driving without a license(expired, failed to renew).Apparently in AZ that is a criminal conviction??? He hired Brad to appear for him, as he got a job out of state. Brad fail to let him know he would STILL have to appear in court (after he paid him $750) Finally after a frustrated professional exchange, Brad finally said, he had been continuing his court appearances, with one continuance left before he would be served with a warrant and jailed!! We scheduled a week to drive there and gave brad 2 months notice. Brad failed to respond to my husbands emails/phone calls, responding once with "Waiting for the courts to get back to me on the dates". We had to keep calling before he told us the week prior that the prosecutor is only there a certain day, the 1 day that we WERE NOT going to be in AZ.Then we hear about a walk in list. I had to call him myself before he would schedule it for hubby. Brad is lazy, distracted, and disinterested. Find someone else.

I WOULD NEVER HIRE THE MAASEN LAW FIRM. I was told that my attorney, Brad Smith, was an expert in DUI cases and "illegal stops" etc. Not only did Brad Smith not pursue any real course of action against the Scottsdale prosecutors office he was wholly un-empathetic to my case, after a $7,000 retainer. I would advise anyone, based on my experience to seek counsel elsewhere. I had a stellar record and was charged with a DUI, despite many many wrong doing by the Scottsdale Police, Brad Smith was still unable to secure a decent plea bargain, despite the fact that I had a stellar record in every sense and I ended up with $7000.00 in lawyers fees $1700.00 in fines a DUI conviction, jail time and loss of my drivers license for one year, I would STAY AWAY FROM THE MAASEN LAW FIRM!!
