Save your money on this man. He will drag out the case as long as possible to run you out of money. He was actually my ex's lawyer. After Bruce kept extending the court date, I finally had to let my attorney go, as I no longer could afford her. Ironically then, Bruce was ready for court. I won my custody case without a lawyer. He talks too much and is not truthful. And he is not as "respected" as stated.

I used Bruce a while back and was looking for an attorney to handle some other stuff when I came across these reviews. As many of the reviews point out, he is extremely hard to deal with. He doesn't listen to you and basically makes you get his coffee and such. He doesn't seem to care much about your case and only seems dedicated to the money. I read many of the reviews here recently and decided express my opinion! All I can see is a good lawyer is consistent and this guys has an average of around 3 stars and that ALONE should tell you he is not consistent! There are better lawyers out there! Just look around.

I love Bruce! He scared the bejesus out of me at first but I heard he was the best and it's the truth. He doesn't get paid to be your friend, he gets paid to get what's rightfully yours. As for someone saying his staff doesn't like him that's completely untrue. I've sat in the office when he's come in to sit down and bs with everyone - myself (a client) included. Walking in the court house was like walking with a celebrity - everyone respects him. I've had other attorney's stop me and say WOW you got the best. He is brash and rude and a pain in the ass but he gets the job done which is what he gets paid for. In the beginning you may want to punch him in the face but by the end you'll want to kiss him on the lips!

LOL! After Reading the reviews and comparing them to my past experiances using him, I want to say to the Negative reviewers, suck it up! There is Method to the Madness! There is a reason he was in Texas Monthly Magazine as one of the best Family Law attorneys in Texas! To anyone looking at these reviews to hire an attorney, what you are reading is dead on how he operates. No need on rehashing what you have already read. Want the best, deal with it! Gave coomunication low score because, well he doesnt communicate. But thats really not a bad thing.

I used Mr. Baughman for my divorce and agree with most comments about his "personality". That being said. I feel his stern manner is a means to an end. Believe me I was on "coffee duty" running around getting him coffee or whatever else he demanded asking myself WTF?!?;I was yelled at by him on numerous occasions (even in the courtroom); each and every time I tried to tell him my "story" he said he didn't want to hear it, etc. It wasn't until after it was all said and done I was able to gain perspective. Now looking back I realize he gave me the greatest gift ever... He forced me be strong during a time I didn't think I had it in me. The judge/court cares ONLY about the facts and doesn't need to see a basket case on the stand. At the time, of course, his style seemed cold and uncaring but even now 10 years later I appreciate what he did for me (intentionally or not) and would recommend him to anyone without a moment's hesitation. - Ramie Parrish (Waco, TX)

I agree with the others. he doesnt bs you. Kinda belittling feeling but he is very intimidating to the opposing party.. it works well when they don't have an attorney (mine didn't even show up to court). He does cost a pretty penny, but I felt it was worth it. It was a little annoying when the staff would call wanting to know the same information over and over... Oh well. He got me what I wanted so I was satisfied.

Mr. Baughman is too self-serving to be a decent legal representative. I have witnessed him turn on his own clients as quickly as he attacks the opposition; his only concern in the cases he represents, is his fee. So long as he is handsomely paid, he could not care less whether you have been adequately represented or not, and certainly he has no concern whether you win your case or not, other than the fact a good track record = more potential clients = more revenue. He relies on dirty, underhanded tactics in an effort to intimidate and/or embarrass his opponents, makes threats to destroy them both financially and physically, has no respect or regard for anyone other than himself. If you hire him, you do so at your own peril; I believe you will soon come to regret that decision. These comments are NOT intended to be libelous as the greatest defense to a charge of libel is, the truth...and this is the truth, to the best of my knowledge and opinion, based on direct personal experience

I JUST HIRED HIM HE WNATED THE FACTS ONLY AND CONTESTED MY DIVORCE FOR THINGS I WOULD NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT..HE'S GOOD HE'S SMART AND KNOWS WHAT HES DOING, HE MIGHT BE EXPENSIVE BUT I'D RATHER HAVE HIM ON MY SIDE THEN ANYONE ELSE..HE'S WORTH EVERY PENNY

Very unprofessional and belligerent person. I asked for an uncontested divorce in which he did not listen. Almost made the divorce a contested divorce. I had to fire him because they would not finish anything!!! My divorce could have been final but never informed me of the situation until I called 3 months later and actually spoke to someone of importance. I had to fire him because he was chargin me over $3500 for an UNCONTESTED DIVORCE!!! Once I hired a new lawyer he decided to intervene so I could not finalize my divorce with the new lawyer. He is now sueing me for over $2000!? For what?! I face him in court in May. I am getting a divorce ecause my ex is an abusive drunk, but yet I pay this guy to treat me like a dog and yell at me like my ex did!! Worst lawyer I have ever had! I have ran into so many people with the same complaints and am pushing them to file a complaint with the bar. DO NOT HIRE!!!!
