Allan Dueck was a very valuable choice by the Justices for the Manitoba Judicially Assisted Dispute Resolution (JADR). Our family law (divorce) case was dragged out by a lawyer who dropped the ball for almost 10 years. Justice Dueck was able to negotiate a reasonable settlement and finally get this finished for us. The legal system for family law isn't really what is about what's right and wrong so go in with that understanding. It is about getting a fairly reasonable settlement. After years of stress and having to think about this constantly Justice Dueck did just that. He was very professional and had compassion for both sides. He negotiated a reasonable settlement (not exactly what we were hoping for but still reasonable) that we could live with and we know there are judges out there that view things and would have done things differently. We finally have peace. Trust me, you want this judge.

A judge who does not know the basics of mediation, such as full and open disclosure, should not be in a position of authority as a judge in the family court system. If parties cannot sit in the same room to negotiate, it is up to the judge to communicate from party to party not to hide information to force an uneven settlement.

Allan Dueck has the highest level of integrity and knows what he is talking about! He is fair, honest, and trustworthy, anyone who says anything bad about Dueck obviously has a hard time being accountable for their own actions and only likes to blame other people for their misfortune, if you are a good person and only want what is fair than Dueck can represent you properly, if you are a liar and a cheat then you will not be happy with his service as Dueck believes in accountability on both sides of the fence. Al Dueck congratulations on being appointed a judge on the Queen's Bench, you deserve it. Anyone who has anything bad to say about Dueck, you should start looking at yourself instead of blaming this fantastic former lawyer who is now a judge.

If your going through a divorce and need a lawyer Dueck is your man, he's honest and doesn't mess around he gets results fast. There is a lot of lawyers out there that will kill time and blow your money and run up your bill, Dueck isn't like that. I was going through a messy divorce in 2006 I met Allan and I instantly felt at ease, he was easy to talk to and he got me what I wanted. I kept my house, my kids and wrapt it all up rather fast. I have used Allan a few times since then on legal matters and will continue to use him in the future as well. I wouldn't want to be a lawyer going against him in court, this man knows what he is doing!!

If you want to spend $80,000 and have him end up working for your ex and their lawyer - he is your guy. He did NOTHING he was supposed to. My ex cleaned out our "home" on Christmas Eve even though there was an agreement in place of how the division of assets would occur. He never filed a motion, he did nothing. I spent $5000 sitting through conference calls dividing up items such as a toilet brush and in the end nothing was ever returned. Once he found out he could not win against my ex's lawyer and did not know how to fix his mess - he fired me. Not kidding - then sent me another bill. RUN AS FAST YOU CAN FROM THIS MAN.

Nothing but promises that he could not get. He thinks he knows something but it is clear he doesn't. All he was good at was billing and make promises he could not keep. All the lawyers there are the same.
