Was in a serious situation with possible damaging consequences. Mr. Thatcher worked thoroughly and managed to get a very good deal with the prosecutor. Throughout the ordeal, his great sense of humor was such a welcome relief. Highly recommend him!

Hired for traffic incident. Disconcertingly flip when responding to respectful e-mail inquiry re: future court date. His one-word reply was, literally, "yup". (I do have a sense of humor but, at that time I had met him only once, in his office, so no informal relationship had been established). In court, my case was adjourned (because police officer involved did not show). Mr. Thatcher was paid more fees for the subsequent appearance. At the subsequent appearance, the police officer again did not show. Verbal exchanges between Mr. Thatcher, judge, & assistant DA were mostly legalese to me but I am sure I heard Mr. Thatcher propose yet another adjournement. The judge said nothing but his facial expression seemed to say "let's get this over with already!". The aDA agreed to reduce the charge, to which I gladly plead guilty and paid a fine. Really not sure how much of an instrument Mr. Thatcher was in the reduced charge. Overall impression: knowledgeable but doesn't care a lot.
