Michele Ellerin took a $500 retainer from me and wrote 1 letter to my ex based on information I had provided her including letters I had previously written to my ex. In my opinion, her letter was a copy and paste job of the letters I had already written. About 2 months later, I receive a statement from her office for over $1,140 plus interest. Her office told me that the retainer had been used up, so this amount was in addition to the $500. The interest charge was for a previous bill her office claims they mailed to me, but I never received. So, essentially, she charged me $1,640+ to write one letter to my ex. During this time, when I called her because a dispute with my ex was reaching a critical juncture, she was not available and I ended up resolving the dispute on my own, which was not exactly in my favor. As a courtesy to me, her office should have informed me right away I had used up the retainer. It is my opinion this is a poor way to do business.
