I have known Ms. Levitan for nearly 40 years. She handled the once brush I had with the CJ system brilliantly. I didn't s'm a successful PhD career English educator and professor of English now, but if it weren't for Ms. Levitan (and the brilliant young associate she assigned to my case) I might — or would have — had a Felony Record, since I was over 21. Years layer, after earning my degrees and certifications a disturbed teen-age daughter of colleague accused us of cutting off her telephone contact to the outside world and forcing her to take "drugs" against her will. Her doc gave her to take something like 4mg of Klonopin as we watched.The next morning, my colleague called and told her CPS had come to visit. I was a NYS cert teacher and administrator and scared to death. I woke up Ms. L on Saturday morning and, PhD and all, was terrified. She had call CPS, identify myself and tell the truth.
