Mr. Marlinga is now a Macomb Probate Judge. In Sept. 2013, I heard him grant $35,000 in Probate attorney fees without requiring a breakdown of the fees or any explanation. Marlinga then said to the court room guests as if to justify the outrageous probate fees: "attorneys make big bucks" Judicial Canon 3 prohibits judges from granting compensation more than the market value. A few years ago, the U.S. Attorneys office did not prove their public corruption and bribery case against Mr. Marlinga when he was prosecutor. Doesn't mean it didn't happen, just means they didn't prove it.
