I hired this man to assist us with a child custody case, he charged a 3,500.00 retainer fee, showed up to court 1 time unprepared by his own words because he thought the other party was not going to show, the case was adjourned, he claimed he spent 4 hours in court and that's it, He told me that , that day cost 1,500.00, and started talking about needed more money immediately, I wanted to terminate his services right then and there but he said he will finish what the retainer was for. He did NOTHING between then and the upcoming new adjournment date, he has been calling my family, practically trying to extort more money saying he will not show up if we do not give him 2,000.00 more, and when we tried to speak to him about anything, he hangs up the phone, , he cursed at my daughter on the phone he is untrustworthy and unprofessional Stay Far Away From Him We are in the process of filing several complaints against him

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Worst attorney ever, doesn't communicate, doesn't show up, works against his own clients, takes money and does little to help clients. sickly and dysfunctional a most horrible experience

I have mixed feelings about Jay Davis. He does have a lot of experience and a good legal mind. The major drawback with Mr. Davis is that for political reasons (he doesn't want to stick his neck out and risk offending any of the sitting judges in Nassau County Family Court) he will not give you adequate representation in that particular court. However, in 2005, he did excellent work and had my then teenaged daughter returned to my custody via the Appellate Div. in Brooklyn, NY. For this reason I hired him to represent me again in 2015 in Nassau County Family Court. Unfortunately, in 2015, Mr. Davis did very little to protect my interest (except perhaps discouraging the judge from issuing a warrant for my arrest). Mr. Davis however withheld crucial info in my case from the judge and the law guardian -- that while the case was going on I was residing at a domestic violence safehouse in NYC after having been directed there by the emergency room of a local hospital!
