Marian Cocose was appointed as a law guardian and made no effort whatsoever to actually represent the minor children in a custody case. She showed poor judgment in deciding to believe what one party said, without making any effort to determine facts regarding the situation. She made no attempt to be neutral and disregarded abundant and readily available information and the assessments of other highly qualified professionals. She was the only person who was supposed to be watching out for the children but she didn't feel obligated to do this. Although I have no information about her performance in other cases, I expect her demonstrated laziness would carry over.The Ulster County Court System is failing to protect children when it assigns someone who so blatantly disregards documented information.
