Collaborative law divorce cases should take half the time and cost half as much. My ex and I were on friendly terms. My attorney advised 50-50 on income and assets. Pretty easy and straight forward, right? And yet it still took 2 1/2 years and cost $30,000. Unconscionable. Very poorly managed.

My husband and I were very pleased with this attorney who represented us in a child custody modification. We retained him after another attorney dropped out because of the complexity of this case. He convinced the mother who had given up the children several years before to negotiate a compromise, where before this she would only consider what she wanted and not what was in the best interest of these teenaged children. He developed an effective strategy and understood the dynamics of the case quickly and thoroughly. His firm partners also provided excellent support of the case. They are a little pricey, but well worth it given what happened with the first attorney who charged us and got us into the mess in the first place.
