Gary did a great job of getting my alimony adjusted down. He ran down about every possible scenario for my case including how each of the potential judges would react. My case played out pretty much the way he described it. Even though the judges make the decisions, Gary runs the court room. He was in complete control of everything that happened in the courtroom during my case. The judge ruled in my favor and we won. Not only did most of my arrears get erased, along with a contempt claim from my ex, my alimony got cut in half. After doing the math I will save over $150,000. Gary is a high energy guy that is in control. He may be working for you but He is the boss. I was a little uncomfortable with how aggressive he is at first, but I am so glad I listened to him and followed his advice. He is exactly the person I would want to defend me.

Too much spent on useless motions. Gary seemed to interested in the money more than the best interests of my child.

His arrogance is disgusting!! He must be ADHD because he won't allow you to comment when he is speaking, as he will lose his train of thought. Spends more time patting himself on the back about past cases, making lots of false promises. His verbal communication skills are horrific at best, and his lack of computer skills hinder the rest. He is all about taking your money and doesn't care about you. Once your money is used up, be ready to be kicked to the curb. He blatantly lies under oath. His lack of knowledge related to business sense is obvious. Unless your case is easy, he won't take the time to know it. He constantly rushes you and gets annoyed easily with questions. He only sees $$. Truly the worst money I've ever spent! Barely knew my case and probably never read a 1/4 of the documents I provided. He is corrupt, unethical, lacks empathy & attentiveness, and has a rude demeanor. Truly appalled by this grotesque rat!! The bar association should revoke his license to practice law.

Attorney Trysman is by FAR the worst attorney i have ever dealt with. He DOES NOT have your best interest in mind. All he care about is filing motions so he can run your retainer down to zero and then asks for more. He has a reputation as being a bulldog, however, he is a bulldog defending himself, NOT his clients

I used attorney Gary Traystman as a tool to get my wife to back off and settle. It was his name that I bought because I needed to strike fear into her. He served that purpose well. My observations on what I got are: He is rude, a bully, he didn't have my best interests in mind, he ran up my bill. I had to put it in writing my limits and what I expected. I had to do most of the work myself, including division of personal property, negotiations of terms. Once he saw I placed financial limits on him, he passed me off to a lesser attorneys billing me 300.00 an hour (for 5 hours including travel) on the day of my divorce while we sat there and waited for the 9 minute process to be held. Stay away from this man, he will "grind" your finances into the ground.

6 years ago my husband of 30 years decided he no longer wanted to be married. I was quite traumatized and feeling quite vulnerable and alone after the breakup. I hired Traystman on recommendation from a friend who only later told me how rude he was. I have MS and explained to him that I needed him to speak slower so I could retain the info that he was giving. If I dared to ask him to repeat himself he became almost as verbally abusive as my ex husband. I always left his office feeling shaken and even worse than when I walked in. He was annoyed that I had to write things down and said that taking more time would mean more money. A few times I tried hard to fight back tears, not from the divorce as much as from the way he was treating me, and when he saw this he would get upset and even ruder. You might wonder why I didn't switch Att. I was told I could not get any of the $5000. back. I was barely represented in court and after he walked away without a word. This review IS from true!

I hired Attorney Traystman for post divorce and custody orders. Attorney Traystman was extremely knowledgable and fully prepared in my case. Attorney Traystman went beyond with preparing himself and most importantly myself for trial. I never felt more represented. Attorney Traystman communicates effectively and you always know where you stand. Attorney Traystman goes to the extra mile in preparing the case. Attorney Traystman prepares you mentally and emotionally for trial. Attorney Traystman is up front with you during the whole process. You always know where you stand. I would highly recommend attorney Traystman.

Gary is by far the best atty out there. I hired him in a child custody/ support modification case. He fought for me, stood up for me and would not let the opposing atty's "bullying tactics" effect me or the case. When we finally started our trial I was amazed by how he controlled the courtroom and totally shut out the other atty. if you want to win he is your only choice. Don't waste your time with the other atty's. if you were to walk around the courthouse and talk to the clerks, Marshalls etc off the record they will tell you he is the best.

Gary is that BEST there is!!! He is extremely knowledgable in divorce laws and is a highly effective communicator!!! Just follow his direction and you get the outcome you desire. He is fair and upfront with everything that he does. He will tell you honestly what the reality of your case is and the different routes you can take. He throughly explains everythihg to you so that you can understand it!....Yes, he may cost a bit more than others, but you get what you pay for! If you what the quality of work that he puts into each and every case, then you have to go with Gary....I believe that the negative comments are from the people that have lost cases against Gary. I am so satisfied with not only the outcome of my case, but on his honesty and what he told me the outcome would be, was right on target of what the outcome was! He is the BEST!!! I am so glad I found an awesome attorney. He is very kind and ethical and a very good man. If you need a lawyer, call Gary. It is the best thing!

Gary's complete inability to follow through with repeated requests for a thorough review of my ex-husbands verified financial documentation which he deemed “imperative” in his original request for production. He was not patient or willing to wait for the requisite financial documentation instead repeatedly directed me to accept or decline a Stipulation agreement presented by the defense, which in no way served nor protected my best interests. During the entire time I had retained him to handle my own divorce/alimony issues I was unaware that he was going through his own bitter divorce. I felt this personal circumstance greatly impacted and tainted his responses to my own imbroglio. His vituperative style caused me to experience great angst and a complete breakdown in the process . After four months of unproductive negotiations and nearly $15,000.00 later, he canceled our last appointment and sent me an e –mail to tell me that he no longer wished to represent me! A BULLY & CROOK

Gary was not only fair, but very communicative with me and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for! For the people who rated him poorly and mentioned his fees, again - you get what you pay for. He was efficient, quick, answered our calls when possible, returned emails, etc. I appreciated his no-nonsense personality, and look, I'm not paying him to be my friend, just win the case. I think the whiners on here are probably opposing counsel, or clients. BOOO HOOOO. Gary is awesome.

this attorney is only out for money and its a shame that the other party doesnt see it. I have read his reviews and in the dealings that I have had with him he is arrogent cocky promises his clients the world and as I have been told by 4 different attorneys in the end when his client loses he blames it on having a bad judge. Yes I have dont my homework and I have consulted with 4 other attorneys one with which I have hired. Iam sad for people who entrust this man he makes things up and the things he makes up are entirely stupid. I would do my homework before hiring this man that is all I need to day. You work hard for you money and Gary only cares about your money. Read a lot of these blogs.

Was very rude to us throughout the entire ordeal, rarely took our calls and chastised us when he did. Oh, and he decided to stop representing us two weeks before trial and filed a motion stating as such without informing us. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I am a former client of Attorney Traystman. I note that all unfavorable ratings are from Attorneys and opposite side people that Attorney Traystman has beaten. When you can't criticize preparation ability, knowledge, skill and results you go to economics and staff. The unfavorable raters obviously don't know what they are talking aboout. Settlements cannot be made without client approval. His staff is knowledgeable, courteous, caring and polite. Attorney Traystman is a professional in every sense of the word and so is his staff. He and his staff's treatment of clients goes beyond caring. His fees are always discussed with clients before they hire him and if necessary while the case is pending. He does not file frivolous motions and all clients are always contacted to authorize depositions and appraisals.

To all those 'good' ratings of Mr. Traystman's so-called ethics I think these blogs were, in my opinion, fabricated by the man himself. This man is NOT ethical. He will tell you what you want to hear, take your money, and that's it. This is his job. He does not care about your problems only about your cash. I lived it first-hand. Do yourself a big favor and contact a different firm. It's sad because his unrelated co-attorneys seem credible and concerned. Maybe they should smell the proverbial roses and part ways. His office staff is rude, uninformed, and immature. Take my novice advice- PLEASE.

Some may find this attorney worthy, I have personally found him to be unethical, unreliable and extremely over priced for the service he provides. Shame that more of his clients aren’t involved with providing a response to his performance here. A review of his small claims cases found online, can clue you on the number of clients wanting to challenge his charges for poor service. This attorney adds to the problem by filing multiple motions which are often unnecessary and leads to delays and unnecessary charges. He has no respect for the clients he is taking this money from. I have personally witnessed him lie in open court in order to sway opinions misleadingly. For that, Mr. Traystman gets a big “0” in respect, and "0" in ethical class. If you value your hard earned money, you will do yourself a HUGE favor by doing your homework and contact some of the dissatisfied clients on the CT Judicial Branch website or his small claims cases. You would be well advised to seek other counsel.

I'm apalled to read the untruths, criticism and unfounded comments about Atty. Gary Traystman. Atty. Traystman as a person is of the higthest caliber. He is honest, truthful and compassionate. He is of the highest integrity. As an Atty. he is able, knowledgeable, competent and ethical. He is not arrogant or pompous. His billing practices are fair and just. He does not do unnecessary work in order to build up his fees. He tells clients not to make frivilous calls in order to save them money. He is always prepared. He is genuinely concerned about his clients. When a client does not take his advice he withdraws (as he should) There is no sense paying for advice then not taking it. Clients should understand that Attys. don't control courts or state agencies (DCF, Family Relations) as to time. Court matters take time. Actions by opposing parties requires reaction by your atty. which causes delay and expense. Atty. Traystman expect to be paid for his services. T

I have worked for attorneys for many years. However, when my husband needed an attorney for a personal issue, we went to Gary Traystman. It was a simple, uncontested probate matter which he has dragged out for almost a year now. Never calls us or takes our calls, but will send a letter telling us to call him, makes us feel like idiots when we ask questions and he sends us bills constantly. And he had the nerve to bad mouth the attorney on the other side. We gave him $15,000.00 dollars in January which he was supposed to turn over to the defendant, he held it in escrow for months, we don't even know to this date what has happened to it. He assured us on May 22, the matter would be resolved within the month. Haven't heard a thing from him today. His staff is extremely rude also. Somebody should file a grievance against this man as he is highly unethical. Come to think of it maybe we will. RUN, RUN, RUN as fast as you can away from this greedy man.

Billed a total of $18,000 for custody case of 13 year old son who wanted to go live with his father. My son was telling the father and mother that he wanted to live with them both. Dragged it out almost 2 years in court. Guardian Ad Litem bill was and additional $6000. We SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO RAISE MY SON. However, this was dragged on too long. Not sure how I feel about the whole thing as it was Oct 2005 and at the time, I felt taken by everyone. He seemed very knowledgeable but seemed to promise more than he could deliver in the end. If someone had only told me that it would basically be my son's choice I wouldn't have spent $18,000 with Mr Traystman. He makes you feel bad about calling him, stupid for asking questions. I thought that was good at first as he would treat the other party like that, but...

BEWARE!!!! This lawyer (Traytsman) is out for one thing only and that is MONEY!! He only cares about money and not his clients. I would never hire him for any purpose. He drags the whole divorce out only to benefit himself. He should not be able to call himself a professional!

Great tenacity in the begining. Sells his client a promising story line to gain large retainer. Shortly thereafter however appears to loose track, misses court dates. Refuses to communicate effectively with client stating "Why are telling me all this...I'll tell you when to worry". Swift to blame client when arrives to court ill-prepared. When it becomes time to worry, this attorney effectively convinces you to settle giving you the impression, either stated or implied that he is going to take a positive course of action shortly in the future on your behalf ... only to motion to withdraw from your case. Then sends you a huge bill after poor performance.
