Derek F Johnson lied to a judge to obtain more fees about a previous arrangement to pay the bill but refused to put it in writin for the woman. Woman confronted Johnson about this in open court, Johnson lied to the judge stating he never made such an arrangement. Woman had legit proof of why the bill had not been dealt with earlier. Also, her son was being treated at Riley Hospital for Children and had appointment to see an Oncologist. Woman begged attorney to waive his fees. She stated she would pay the bill but just didnt have the money to pay the fees. Johnson refused. Johnson collected over $500 in fees for a bill that was $397. Johnson made woman pay total $1000. Do not hire attorney's that lie or cheat to win cases or to obtain more money. It doesn't pay off in the long run. Unethical firm.
