During the first meeting with Richard, I knew he was extremely capable and the attorney who could get the divorce finalized ethically, timely and ensure an equitable settlement for all parties, per California family law. From the beginning, he was professional, knowledgeable, experienced, extremely capable, and unlike the others, genuinely cared about helping me through the process, promising to “get it done.” Further, Richard was extremely helpful with child custody matters, where his experience in this field was of tremendous value and really showed. He provided recommendations for child counseling and guidance that helped me navigate the difficult challenges I was facing in dealing with my previously mandated visitation schedule that, up to this point, was being frustrated by my ex-wife at every opportunity. Worse, my son was being manipulated and the frustration of the visitation schedule was causing tremendous strain in my relationship with him. Hire Richard today!!

The worst attorney out there. Rude, neglecting to meet court ordered documents production.

He is the BEST in San Diego. If you deserve it, you will get it. Period. My Ex Husband called me after our last court date. His exact words were "You had a great lawyer. I wish he was mine." Not only is he . Bulldog in the courtroom, he is compassionate, caring and professional. Worth every penny.

I would give value a 6 if I could. Richard was a no-nonsense and compassionate attorney who represented me in a child custody case where my exhusband was allowing his new wife to mistreat my children when in his care. Richard knew from the outset that my intention was to protect my children, not penalize my husband. He worked through multiple iterations of engagements with my ex'es attorney and helped me keep my priorities in line when emotions were running high. We resolved amicably with some workable modifications to our child support agreement, and avoided a two-day trial and thousands of dollars. I cannot more highly recommend Richard and his staff for their efficiency, efficacy and ability to keep me informed and and aware of my case status. Great, great team.

The most important quality you need in a lawyer is not technical knowledge, aggressiveness, or courtroom oratory (though Richard is expert in all of these as well). Most people, myself included, have very little experience with law in general, or with family law in particular. What I needed, and what you need if you're looking for a lawyer, is someone to cut through the drama, explain which facts are important in the eyes of the law, and tell you what is reasonable and likely to be viewed favorably by the judge. Richard is outstanding in this regard. Working with him brought me immense peace of mind that my children and I were in good hands. My ex-wife paid twice as much for her lawyer, who routinely confused and terrified her client and brought forth sleazy courtroom tactics. In the end, though, we prevailed on almost every issue. Custody got modified to what we wanted, child support got ordered as we wanted, and my ex was prohibited from using corporal punishment as we wanted.

I obtained the law office of Richard Freed at the very last moment of my case going to court. Mr. Freed took over my divorce from a paralegal I had hired, he was able in a very short amount of time change my request and ensure that my daughter and I were taken care of. His staff pulled together all the necessary documents that were needed to support my case. Mr. Freed represented me in the utmost professional manner. He was brilliant in court and was understanding and patient outside of court. I would highly recommend Mr. Freed.

Richard G. Freed has been my attorney since August of ’09. Mr. Freed and his staff have been there for me through thick and thin! I have a very aggressive ex who retained a very aggressive attorney which can equal a recipe for disaster!! Mr. Freed has calmly and successfully represented me without getting caught up in all of the drama from my ex and her attorney and has saved me thousands of dollars by not doing so. He really is a good guy with a kind heart which is very hard to find in this line of business. I would highly recommend Mr. Freed as he was highly recommended to me.

Richard Freed, Esq. is amazing. He helped me out of a seemingly impossible situation my ex had created for me. He was efficient, attentive and extremely kind. If you are in, what looks like, a no win situation, I highly recommend retaining Richard Freed, Esq. He knows what he is doing and will not let you down. He goes above and beyond your expectations. He has a lovely, caring and very helpful staff as well. Richard Freed is the only attorney to hire when it comes to family law. Again, if you are in need of representation, for family court, HIRE Richard Freed, Esq. He works very hard and quickly. He has made me a very happy client, and was able to put security back in my life, when it was once very insecure.

I'm a mother & I obtained the referral for Mr. Freed from another client of his who gave him high praise. I was given less than 24 hours notice to appear in family court for the second time in three months, and not only did Mr. Freed take my case on short notice but he also appeared with me in court. Mr. Freed assured me that my dealings with the father would get easier and he's followed through with his promise. Mr. Freed has been knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and relived a great amount of my stress. I no longer need to worry that the father will continue his attempts to bully me using my daughter and the Family Court as leverage. Thank you Mr. Freed, you have my recommendation.

Mr Freed gathered all info in very short time due to Family court date 2 days after he was first contacted. We were new to him and he was starting from scratch with a client who had been through family court with another attorney for 4 years. He presented case in logical and compelling way and with conviction. Mr Freed was prepared, communicated frequently, investigated facts and prepared client. Mr. Freed managed to do what the prior attorney could not do in 4 years! He was on time for all court dates, and with time for last minute communication with client on strategy prior to hearing. This may sound strange, but our last experience was just the opposite. He has prepared client for all hearings and actions including mediation. While the family court system workings and actions are a mystery to us, Mr. Freed has helped explain procedures and alleviate our anxiety. He has our recommendation.

If you are looking for a competent family law speacialist Mr. Freed and his competent staff are the way to go. Not only did he handle my case in a timely fashion but within a few months i was back to regular visitation with our daughter...you pay for what you get and you get for what you pay...A couple years later visitation was frustrated and all it took was a call to the office and my ex magically figured things out...personable, aggresive, commanding, do what he says and listen to what he says, and whatever is in your childrens best interest will be........

Having gone through the divorce mill before I knew I would need a Top Shelf Attorney for the current one and that's why I hired RICHARD FREED. I needed the best and that's what I have. We started from a point where my wife had run off with the children, my money, my belongings, everything. She wanted the house, cars, child support, child care and my blood. Well, I knew it would be a lengthy, expensive and hard fought, up hill battle. That's where Richard Freed came in. So, after starting in a rather deep hole I have arrived here! I now have custody of my children, my home back and in my name only, a lien on her home for money owed to me, she pays me child support, child care, attorney fees, and arrearages. I have my vehicles, my home furnishings have been returned, her wages are garnished and she must stay away from me and my home, (except for child exchanges). Not bad, a complete revesal of bad fortune. You Get What You Pay For!!! Get RICHARD FREED, if you want to win???

I didn't have any child custody issues in my divorce, but my wife was trying to squeeze me for an unfair amount of support and legal fees. I had a business and a house before marriage and Richard Freed convinced the court that she was NOT entitled to any of it. He saved my "assets" so to speak and I would never recommend any one else for a divorce case.

If I could give a zero, I would rate Mr. Richard G Freed a zero. It is lawyer like Mr. Freed who give other good lawyer a bad reputation. As an attorney, I thought that he would look out for my best interest but do not be fool (especially all the moms out there). He was never around when I needed to talk to him until it was very close to hearings or something drastic happened. In court, Mr. Freed was not prepared. Mr. Freed failed to respond and filed necessary paper work to the court in timely manner which caused me my case. Mr. Freed bent over backward to make deal with opposing counsel and sold me out in order to make his job easier. Mr. Freed takes pride in having best mediator, his mom, to coach his client for Mediation but I am telling you it is not worth your money and trust. As a mom, I know it is very hard to know who to trust when it comes to child custody issue. I considered Mr. Richard G Freed as a BAD lawyer with no heart. I wished I had fire him sooner.
