Steve Smith is arguably the best lawyer in Alberta when compared to all of his peers and he is certainly the best lawyer in Alberta in terms of value. He has a brilliant legal mind and he is very fair in terms of his fee structure. The range of his expertise runs from simple summary trial matters to highly-technical appellate applications, as well as major trials in front of the Court of Queen's Bench. He is highly adept at identifying technical weaknesses in the Crown's cases and exploiting those deficiencies to obtain acquittals for his clients. In the event that you have been convicted in provincial court because your trial lawyer did not do the best job possible, I urge you to contact Steve to review your case. If there was an error, he will find it and figure out a way to help you.
His assistant, Jessica, is also very professional and first among her class of legal administrators. She is highly organized and very responsive when you need to ask questions or obtain info.

one of the most fortunate days of my life was when I was called out for an interview with attorney Steve Smith at the EDmonton remand centre. He had been recommended to me by a fellow prisoner. I was facing serious pen time on 2 charges- attempted murder and aggravated assault. I elected trial by jury, and when the trial was over the jury found me not guilty on both counts. The jury elected to find me guilty of the lesser charges of causing bodily harm, threatening and common assault. The judge sentenced me to 12 months, less 7 months and 22 days, for the bodily harm, and the other 2 ran concurrent.I received house arrest for the balance. I give all the credit to Steve. I had a good feeling about him in the very beginning, and I did'nt hesitate to tell him that I was putting all of my faith in him. Steve never let me down, and thanks to him I"m basically a free man. ok I know its suspicious to give a guy all 5 stars, but my old lawyer Kent Teskey supposedly A PRIME lawyer told me to get ready to serve some relatively serious time for a very expensive trial, i randomly came across gunn law group and a minor in the firm passed me onto s. smith. he was very understandng of my financial situation and my legal situation. He never tried to force me to trial and make a killing. he made a great statement of agreement (in my favour) with the prosecution that saw my sentence drop from 9 monthhs jail to 32 days intermittent. he is not the most accessible lawyer but he always calls u back. BTW watch out for the handshake as it hurts, as my wife says. This guy is A-1. Gotta say the same for Gunn law group. thanks a million.
