Drags on and on and charges quite a lot for doing nothing on the file. Very unprofessional and makes crucial mistakes. Always having to chase him down.

I have dealt with other lawyers in the past and have not had very good experiences. I went to see this lawyer for an issue which did not require much time at all and that was completed for a flat rate, he dealt with my issue quickly and protected my interests. When it came to finalizing documents and signing, he explained clearly to me what I was signing and made the necessary changes. When I needed an appointment I would call the main line and I did not notice any mistakes as previous comments stated. I will be using his services in the near future and hope i have the same experience as I previously did.

You need to hound him constantly to get him to do anything, even basic things like file applications on time or forward correspondence from other counsel. He does not return phone calls or emails until you have harassed him for days; twice I had to call his boss to get him to return my phone call. His written correspondence full of typos (including official documents, and to opposing counsel). Made several sloppy mistakes, and did appear to take them seriously when they were brought to his attention - as an example, at one point his reply was: "I totally forgot... ya know, I thought I did it, and then when you called, I went 'Oh, crap!'... OK, well I'll fix it". I also caught him lying to me to cover up his own incompetence. Apparently it didn't occur to him that I could call a courthouse and ask when they had received a file. Martin Bufton is disgracefully unprofessional, inept, and negligent. I would never hire him again.

I have to agree with the previous comment - I need to hound him in order to get information, very unprofessional when communicating, makes you feel like you don't know what you're doing and are just wasting his time (even though you pay through the roof for his time!)has typos and errors in correspondance - overall, this wasn't a very pleasant experience

Drags his feet and never gets back to you unless you hound him. Very unprofessional. His time costs you but when it comes time to give you results he forgets he already charged you.
