Go to literally ANYONE else. This woman has absolutely no idea what she is doing. She has ZERO professionalism as well as ZERO knowledge of how to be an attorney. She is money hungry and she is heinous. STAY AWAY! Took $8000 from me and never did a single thing. This woman should truly be disbarred.

Karla Wood IS A WONDERFUL ATTORNEY. She is well educated and passionate. The fact that she is a woman attorney with her own family helps her to identify and understand and solve the complexities of family law. Ms. Wood is a wonderful atty. She handled my divorce and I went back and hired her for other issues as well. Each interaction was pleasant and professional. I recommend her to anyone looking for an honest and fair atty that is willing to work hard for her clients.

Karla Wood helped me get out of a lot of trouble, I'll give her that. But she would not communicate with me very often. She always had an attitude and just be mean for no reason at all. I will never hire her again! Anyone else I'm sure would be better.

She lacks respect of other attorneys in the district and also judges. Her lack of competence has hurt many people. I am a criminal justice instructor and have personal knowledge of several cases of very low standards by her.

Karla was a great lawyer for me. We met at her office 2 times and then at the courthouse. Once for consult which the fee was explained upfront on the phone beforehand and then again for payment for my divorce. The courthouse visit was on our court date which she made me aware of the court date in advance. She fought for me and was extremely professional. She was the only Haywood County lawyer who would go up against my husbands Buncombe County lawyer.

Ms. Wood was my divorce attorney. It was my first time needing an attorney for anything other than a real estate purchase. I had an excellent experience. When I made the first appointment, I was told exactly what to expect and the cost. At the first appointment, Ms. Wood listened to my situation, explained my options and the process, and explained the cost and what her services would provide. She responded promptly any time I had questions or concerns. I always felt that she respected me and my wishes. She took care of the separation agreement, including all the arrangements for child custody and property settlement. A divorce is stressful, but I always felt that she was acting in my best interest. I am very glad that I chose her as my attorney/

Unfortunately, Ive been in the courtroom a lot. Never once have I wanted to be represented by an attorney other than Karla. Karla has always been available to help and answer any questions I've had. She has always kept me up to date with what's going on. I have never been unhappy with Karla's work. She handles everything very professionally. You will have no doubt that she knows your case and is doing everything in her power to help you!

paid 3500.00 have communicated with her 2 times 1 was to meet and pay the other because she said case was closed and we had to watch for her to come in her office at which time she stated we have 11 1/2 hrs left now she will not contact us at all take your money and blow it because if you pay her you just did rate a double oo

Ms. Wood handled my divorce and it was as painless as a divorce can be. I saw her once to give her all the information and details and when the divorce was final I received my paperwork in the mail. She was professional, helpful and knowledgable. I never thought it would be that easy!

On May 17, 2010 Karla Wood was in court in Waynesville, NC as she herself faced allegations of malpractice and breach of contract in one case, and ethical misconduct/child support/divorce issues in her other case. Her physical appearance and behavior were very poor. At one point the attorney she had hired to represent her told her to sit properly in chair. I hope this information will serve as a warning and and protect others from poor legal counseling and representation.

I paid her $4000 to do my property division. Shortly before time to sign the papers, I realized I was getting a really bad deal and told her I'd changed my mind about what I wanted. She got very mad and told me she'd done her job and wasn't going to redo the order and if I didn't like it to find somebody else. I'd already paid her and couldn't afford to hire anybody else. My husband got everything. A week after this was signed I got a letter from Karla telling me she had fulfilled all obligations to me and in the future find someone else for my legal needs. I wish I'd kept the $4000 I gave her. I could have given my husband everything myself for free

I paid her $4000.00 to do an appeal to Court of Appeals (COA). COA judges ruled unanimously that she had based the appeal on a contention that was without merit, due to her not properly requesting a specific findings of fact. I then tried to settle the civil matter. She e-mailed me that she would not respond to the opposing attorney, stating that "they did not speak". I then hired another attorney and settled the matter. I filed a civil suit against her in court (09 CVD 20).

$5000.00 fee for seperation agreement & ED Assetts. Communication 2x's in person everything else e-mail only. Became upset because I insisted on communication r/t up coming mediation meeting. Sent paper to w/drawl from case day before meeting. I had to call NC Bar Assoc. so she would show. She brought none of my paper work with valuable info r/t belonging's would not communicate with me at meeting. Mediator left room to meet with x spouse she went out of room. 19 years of marriage:I(wife) got a $75,000.00 mortgage, $100,000.00 equity to pay, $5000.00 in silver bought from equity, 1981 truck does not run, piece property bought from equity line. x spouse toy. 4-runner bought equity, several antique jeeps equity line, all the furniture, $250,000.00 piece property, master craft ski bout new motor paid from equity line. Then sent me a bill for $875.00 I lost everything. no spousal support either, I worked 19 years for nothing She would not do her job, very rude
