I had a straight forward case and Andrea Poplawski plain and simply put: NEGLIGENT. My case was drawn out too long and because of a timing issue I essentially lost what I set out to do for my son. I lived out of town and she created such a hardship for me with regards to lost time, money, energy and added stress. I tried several attempts over months to try to find out what was going on with my case via Email & phone messages that were NEVER returned. I even made personal visits to the office when I came to Spokane all to no avail. I was so frustrated when I RECEIVED BILLS indicating new charges at the end of the month! In person she acted like a go-getter and seemed to know what she was talking about, but at the end of the day, she's on vacation. After expressing my concerns and PROOF to JBurke she packed up the very next day. Fortunately a skilled and personable lawyer took her place for damage control as I believe the office sympathized with those of us left in her wake.

Andrea was a good lawyer, when you were speaking with her. Outside of that was another thing. There was never communication from her office, I had to call and requested documents and email. This action only ended up costing me more money.
The only way I knew she was doing anything was the bill at the end of the month, which always had charges for things which were over billed. If you talk to her for 15 minutes, expect an hour charge. When I brought up the questionable billing, I was worried how that would adversely affect my case.
She did not argue the case as I requested. She took whatever course of action was the least resistance, without explaining why it would be necessary.
The divorce was drug out and ended up costing multiple times what it should have originally cost.
She is a good lawyer, who sounds competent and compelling but her office leaves much to be desired.
I would not recommend this lawyer or Burke Law Group to anyone.
