Several years ago I began my separation process with Greg. After several months of back and forth via the collaborative process he presented me, my ex and her lawyer with a proposal (without running it past me first) which showed payments that did not factor in any imputed salary for my ex. He sent this late in the day on a Friday. I immediately called him but was informed he was on vacation for 2 weeks and was unreachable. Needless to say we parted ways for this and the collaborative process was not to be. The amount my ex saw in Greg’s proposal was a number she was then locked in on. It took 4 years but I managed to get a payment about $1000/month cheaper, as my new lawyer did get imputing in place. Greg caused me much heartache and lawyer bills to get there. Highly recommend you do not use Greg Evans

My ex and his lawyer suggested I use Greg Evans since the two lawyers work on Collaborative Separation Agreements together (big red flag I should have listened to). Greg constantly asked me to give and give and give into the demands of my ex because “we all know he is difficult so if you do this then it will make things go smoother and wrap up quicker for you”. When after 3 years I got tired of being bullied, harassed and delayed by Greg he threaten “to act as a witness for my ex” because I wouldn’t sign a very unfair separation agreement that had a $70K math error by my ex’s lawyer that the 3 of them asked me to swallow. I reported Greg to the law society. They advised that there were ethics breaches and I could hire another lawyer to sue him - no way I am throwing more money away on Greg Evans! Stay away from Evans Law and Greg Evans

We used Greg for Arbitration, where his work outcome was incompetent and sloppy (lazy?) in both directions. It was clear he didn't spend any time figuring out the actual issues or seeking fair and appropriate resolution. My lawyer joked it's one of the only things my ex would agree with me on. Closing the issue required sending a proposal after the Arbitration Award. Maybe he's too busy and didn't care?

Greg is more than just a lawyer he truly cares about his clients and at the end of the day advises as to what is the best and healthiest decision for you not your pocket book. He also ensures you are aware of both sides and what you are letting go of. I truly appreciated his honesty, efficient work & empathetic nature. He made a very difficult situation go smoothly with as little drama as possible.

My experience with Mr. Evans was disappointing. Aside from high fees, I provided him with a comprehensive document file spanning the last 3 years of my marital relationship. He failed to clarify what happens when my daughter turned 18. If she attends post-secondary, do I pay support during summer months when she is not in school? Can I pay support to her directly? Why was it not part of the final agreement? In short, it was a dissatisfying relationship. I felt that his quality of work was lacking. I provided him a comprehensive personal financial record. I mentioned to him that the "common" family account existed at another bank my wife used. He never requested the records and when I did (after the final decree), I found inequities in payment. I had over-payed into the account multiple thousands of dollars ($3800 to be exact) I could not file a claim against my wife for fraud. I would not use him again.

Fair lawyer, but needs to be more assertive. He was a junior when I used him. Great for mediation and keeping things in perspective.
