Pay attention to the reviews, he always favours the female, all the guys that hire him get destroyed, david is a total coward, screwed me over and wouldn’t even talk to me or even answer my calls afterward, should loose he place on the board

overbilled for work. i wanted a collaborative experience with my ex but he was just rude and brash and unnecessarily so, which just drove up legal fees. i would not recommend this arrogant lawyer with a bad comb over.

I’ve been through two difficult marital breakdowns. They were not the same but both were stressful. In the first instance, the lawyer acted as though I was a number. He wasn’t rude, but he wasn’t engaging either. David was different. He was a good listener and gave me confidence that he understood my case well. My ex tried to make me feel hopeless and frustrated, but David didn’t let me feel down and he helped me achieve a very fair agreement. It has been awhile since I went through all of this, but David’s kindness stands out still.

When my husband of 20 years left me for a younger woman who worked at his office, I was devastated. I had been a stay at home mother for 17 years, knew nothing about our finances and had no work experience. My husband gave me a separation agreement to sign where I would have had no spousal support and less than half the assets. He told me not to go to a lawyer. I spoke to a friend who told me to go to Mr Halkett. In our first meeting he told me not to sign it and advised me about my rights. He and the opposing lawyer then negotiated a fair deal where I received the high range of spousal support and 2/3 of the assets. I can now take care of myself and my children thanks to Mr. Halkett.

I just resolved a lengthy and complex case arising out of lengthy relationship. David helped me through all aspects in a thoughtful, professional and ethical manner. He was always there to provide with moral and legal support. I achieved the result I wanted at a good price. I highly recommend him!

Sadly I recommend that you RUN and don't waste your money on David. Do not be smooth talked into sticking with him. His billing amount is high and he doesn't even give a time breakdown on amounts charged to you. He isn't interested in solving your case just in billing YOU. Letters sent from his office look beautiful but are not followed up and are completely ineffective. Recommendations from people taking his courses should be REJECTED, as a smooth teacher does not make him a good lawyer. He has become a partner now, which I assume shows what a good money maker he is, NOT what a good lawyer he is. Unlike me ...do more investigation and remember all lawyers are smooth talkers. First time hiring a lawyer puts the public in a no win (or just plain luck) situation as we don't know what to expect and trust our lawyer is on our side! Thank goodness for a site like this, hope my input has helped send you to a better lawyer. Wishing you good luck.

Just burn your money. At least you will get some heat out of it. He does not know his job. The only thing he does well is the bill.

Dont waste your time. Charges a lot and is very innefective in court. You would probably do better on your own.
