She says she stands up for bullies, but she is just a bully herself who likes to overcharge her clients. Beware of her retainer fee!!

Stay Away !!! Hired her after firing 1st Lawyer....Fled an abusive relationship in 2008, hired her in 2009 thru Legal Aid. She never showed to meeting with Children's Court appointed Lawyer & Abusers Lawyer. She claimed she was so sick that morning that she couldn't even call to say she was unable to attend. We all waited over an hour with her being a no show! She had no problem billing Legal Aid. After I complained to Law Society I did some research ...low and behold realize her true color's. Lazy, unapologetic, unable to complete and file court documents, etc..... STAY AWAY !!!!

I had to do my own paper work and did all the serving and filing myself. She did not want to be on record with the courts and not always there in court for me . Near the end I had to let her go because we both had not agreed on a conclusion for my case nor did she like my living arrangements . Basically I did all the work for her and she got paid for it . What a waste of my time and experience .

All what listed below was true about her. She is after money and legal aid hours. Do not waste your time and money. My case needed a lot of attention and she did not care. She is good in talking about different cases but not yours. She just wasted my time and money besides her reputation is pretty bad with LSUC. Please visit www.lsuc.on.ca

Kerry worked my case very well.Before Kerry I couldn't see my kids.i did not see my children for almost a year.Kerry took my case and worked very hard.she made me a very good deal about seeing my kids on every weekend.she was always in court and she was traveling from onather city by train.I had a direct calls anytime I wanna to talk to her.she was very honest,hardworking,and very helpfull.

I wish the scale would go lower than 1! I feel that she does make quick judgements, and really should not offer legal aid. She bills for things that she did not do and wastes everyones time. She is unreliable. I warn anyone who considers here... Think again! I thought that she would be a great fit and she was furthest from that! She was too extreme with her thoughts at first and when I spoke up and corrected how far things needed to go then she lost interest and did not return any of my calls. Also, a little tidbit to share would be if you decide to go with her as your lawyer, make sure you re-read everything! Her idea of twisting the truth to benefit the cause reflects on you. In the end you are in the one who has to live your life and letting her control / destroy it is the worst thing you can do.

I believe that I am the ex-girlfriend of the second poster. Kerry is a highly ethical person whose opinions come from an informed place. She is not someone to form judgments quickly. Kerry prefers that people come to their own conclusions. In short it sounds like the views of the second poster are based on his own assumptions. I only knew Kerry after my boyfriend and I split up. I had spoken with her only a couple times before that as she was friends with my boyfriend, not me. After we were broken up, we were stuck living together when I could not find a place to live because of my cat. My boyfriend asked Kerry for help because we were arguing a lot. Kerry let me stay there as a favor to my boyfriend, Kerry and I became friends and enjoyed talking about social justice issues. If I told her he was abusive, those were my thoughts. Looks like the poster was making assumptions about me too.

Kerry was available to proceed with my case further with full of confidence. She was very honest with me from day one. Very good communicator and patient.I really recommend her to take your case. Maybe she does not have a fancy office ...etc. like many other lawyers but very professional.

October, 2010 - Kerry Kathleen Gearin's license has been suspended for personal misconduct with trust account funds. See the Law Society's recent ruling.
