Seema agreed to negotiate the financial and parenting plan parts of my divorce with my ex in a collaborative law process. When we were done with the parenting plan in which I foolishly agreed to give custody to my ex, she advised my ex to end the process and pursue non-collaborative process with a highly-aggressive lawyer. I now have no house, no kids and I'm close to bankruptcy thanks to her misrepresentation and abuse of the collaborative process. We're 8 years into a high conflict hell with no resolution, two kids who have threatened suicide, and me as a father have abandoned my kids to get away from my ex. Terrible and shameful lawyer focused on inflicting short term vengeance instead of long term prosperity.

Seema is a horrible employer. After working at her office I now understand why all her assistants have left her and don't get me started about her associate lawyer Andrea, she manipulates Seema and Seema is to stupid not to see it. Seema does not think about her employee and the damage she causes when she is letting go someone. Seema cannot take a stance when making decisions with her mediation practice with her clients using Seema as your mediator is a waste of money I do not recommend her at all. You will spend thousands of dollars and still be unsatisfied with the outcome.

Ms. Jain was a tremendous lawyer for me in 2006/7, accurately predicting possible outcomes in the future and writing a very sympathetic separation agreement when I wasn't in the headspace to advocate for myself or imagine things turning out badly in the future with my 'amicable' split (which they did in 2011). Her foresight came in incredibly handy YEARS after the original draft was signed!! Great recommendations on how to use my time (to cut my own costs for her time), she was both very supportive and pragmatic, very knowledgeable. We were able to avoid court, limit the exposures I had and still maximize my control/rights vis a vis a child. This kept my costs low but with huge value (see the strength of the document years later!). I'd recommend her without hesitation (and continue to do so, regularly, to family and friends).

I found this lawyer professional, honest, genuinely concerned and an excellent advocate. Her advice to me was clear and she predicted everything accurately.

Takes offense easily. Seems angry at times. Overwhelmed. Honesty and integrity issues. Unnecessary billed hours. Reluctant to take a position or to give advice on key issues. Can give conflicting advice rather than taking a clear position. Seems far more invested in representing her professional interests rather than her client's. Transfers blame on to client rather than acknowledge her mistakes. Serious ongoing communication challenges. Conversations seem to go in a circle, while key questions remain unanswered. Often takes things personally. Be careful. Strengths include a solid understanding of the mechanisms of the Office of the Children's Lawyer. Although apparently a specialist in mediation, this was not my experience. She was consistently bullied by the unscrupulous opposing counsel. As a result of being very passive, the other was never held accountable for ongoing perjury and breaches of orders. Opposing counsel also got away with big factual errors in court. Tends to judge.
