As a friend of a defendant in a civil estate litigation case, I was asked to assist in the case, but was disappointed with Lawyer B.M. Hayes' conduct. He filed an application for direction without any supporting documentation or reliable evidence, and his client filed a fraudulent sworn affidavit that was a personal attack on not only the defendant, but also myself. Additionally, it appears that Lawyer B.M. Hayes filed an affidavit without notifying his client, which is a serious breach of professional and ethical obligations.After this experience, I sent a demand letter to Lawyer B.M. Hayes, proposing that his client withdraw the case and offer to pay damages in order to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, Lawyer B.M. Hayes responded by calling me and screaming at me on the phone before hanging onme

I used Barrie Hayes as a lawyer and I can say he is the worst of the worst. He cost me over $100 000 in fees and he didn’t get me nowhere . In court he was never prepare, he was confused using the wrong names, wrong facts he didn’t know where his papers were in the middle of a court date he had to go and phone his helper to see where the papers were. He was in my opinion a joke. And trust me don’t hire him all he does is charge you and does nothing. He will NOT fight for you in court because he doesn’t know how he has NO tenacity all he wants is your money. He dragged things on for 4 almost 5 years and nothing happen... I finally switch to a different lawyer that cost me $ 3000 1 court appearance and I won it all in no time.... that’s when I really realize that dealing with Barrie Hayes was dealing with a real incompetent I’m telling you stay away from that guy he is the worst and he will screw you and your wallet. Run, run and don’t look back!!

He represented my ex in divorce and cost him over a hundred thousand dollars and dragged in the case for years. He tries every slimy angle and kept losing all court cases for his client. He was unorganized and wrong on most points of his arguments and lied constantly. my ex couldn’t see what was happening and eventually lost everything -while I won. He played my ex brilliantly. Even encouraged him to quit his job to avoid spousal. He’s bankrupted dozens of his clients. How is this legal??

Barrie is only interested in how much money he can fleece vulnerable clients for - he has no interest in trying to resolve cases quickly and efficiently. He consistently ignores opportunities to hold opposing lawyers accountable, preferring instead to drive up his own clients' bills and dragging cases out. He also loves to 'layer' services - this means you have to go through multiple secretaries to reach him, and this all happens on your dime. Be warned - he even makes sure you're charged for the time it takes you to book an appointment with him - I kid you not. Greed = Death

I used Barrie Hayes in 2000-2001 in a custody battle that went into a five day trial. I was under Legal Aid and Mr. Hayes didn't treat me any differently. He fought for what I wanted but also told me that the outcome could be different. I won my trial thanks to Mr. Hayes. Thanks for being an awesome lawyer.

Complete scrum bag. Unethical, pads bills, won't attempt to resolve family court matters. He withheld funds from joint property sale in trust and didn't pay creditors or bills. Doesn't care about whats best for children, or either party, only interested in getting as much money in his own pocket he can . Constantly getting adornments as he wasn't prepared. He was the only one that was happy at the end of our Divorce. Avoid this lawyer

He helped me through a very difficult 11years, went over and above what would be expected. He gave me Pro Bono assistance & was honest about probable outcomes. He is calm in court & gets his message across to the bench. He won't get you into a fight that you can't win.

I've used many lawyers over the years and Barrie Hayes is the worst. He is a spineless, weasel that pads his clients bills. He has zero tenacity, over charges and has lousy follow up skills. Do not use him. He also lied to me on at least two occasions.
