In 2016, after ex showed up late to court, case got pushed to Sager who had fewer cases than original judge. Sager gave me less than 3 weeks to file a new motion and get an APCO letter confirming my claim that my ex never bothered to do his interview for 8 months, even though APCO requires 2 weeks' notice and Family Court needs 6 business days for filings. Her deadline was absurd and prejudicial. She accused me of "parental alienation" without evidence because my ex claimed so, ignoring that the previous judge had already given him 3 weeks to complete the interview on the date of the case conference 3 weeks prior; ex rushed over to finally do it. I was already dealing with PTSD, yet had to beg APCO for a rushed letter, paying over $100 I couldn’t afford (on OW). Even when I proved my ex was at fault, Sager ignored APCO's letter. Court lawyers warned me she's a "father’s rights advocate." She traumatized my son, worsened my PTSD. In 2019, ex stopped exercising Access—colour me shocked!

Terribly judge. beware she is pro women and doesn't consider the man's side. The respondent lied through her teeth and the judge sided with her every word. Be careful with her

Incredible that this is how decisions are made in family law court in this country. Shooting from the hip based on accusations, without considering that maybe the accusations could be lies, and maybe due dilligence should be followed even before trial. This is not how I thought court works. If I knew, I would have also thrown around accusations and not give a damn until we reach trial. Only we didn't reached trial, because the opposing counsel was legal aid, and I paid out of pocket for my lawyer and after 75k I ran out of money. So I gave in. This is bs.

Bad lawyer presently reviewing a case she was involve with extremely concern about aspect of the case which could be tantamount to fraud . Also concern that aspect of judges order was completely omitted to perpetuate such fraud.This is quite concerning for this lawyer who is now a judge

Melanie did a good job for my children and representing the issues. She is good as a children's lawyer representing the views of children and has found a niche in that area.

Typos, ommissions and errors on a thin brief with no backup documentation. Encouraged my ex to go for the jugular which I guess some people like. It was really hard mediating or negotiating with her. Lots of duress in communications. No complaints against her at the Law Society though, which surprised me.

Melanie was awesome - very supportive, infomative always on the ball. Went after my ex with a passion almost equal to mine.. I would reccomend her any time.

Very poor representation will be revisiting the settlement she negotiated on behalf of my client with another lawyer. Cannot comment on the other areas, as I was not there personally, but did review the settlement with my client, who had serious mental illness and I feel was taken advantage of.
