Unethical and arrogant; self-serving; fails to advocate and drives up fees by playing games. He's been at it way too long and it shows through his nasty temperment. Advocating is not on his priority list. He has dissatisfied clients that he has worked over. A physical brawl was underway when I arrived at his office to have him sign a substitution of counsel. He shouted profanity at me in open court and was admonished by the Judge. He failed to argue a key point that resulted in an inaccurate order being issued by the Judge (thankfully it was temporary and later terminated). He does not tolerate being corrected. He is overworked, in extremely poor physical condition- obesity and a foul temperment. Time to retire.

Merritt L. Weisinger has been paracticing law for 44 years. He claims to have a blemish free record with the california state bar. I find this statement impossible to believe. He has become complacent at best. When called on his poor performance and lack of listening skills he becomes overly defensive. He hardly works. He is the reason the public hates lawyres. He mislead me and has done permaent damage to me and my family and he could not care less. Buyer beware.

I have a legal background and have never encountered an attorney so unethical and not zealously looking out for his clients. He browbeats his clients into doing what is not in their best intersts. He lies about his fees and your rights as a consumer to complain about his fees. He spent more time consorting with my ex-husband and his attorney then looking out for my interests. The final settlement document -- which he did not check -- in effect had me giving up all my rights to child support. Luckily I carefully reviewed the document myself. He does everything he can to avoid you going to mediation to review his work, when you have a fee dispute. You finally see his zealousness when he is trying to collect disputed fees. He bullys you and calls you names and does all he can to intimidate you. He resorts to all types of underhanded tactics to get what he wants. Not only is he a lousy lawyer -- he is a terrible person.

Merritt was a horrible lawyer. He fell asleep in part of my hearing and if I didn't personally say something to the judge I would not have received the out come I did. He is knowledgeable, but he doesn't seem to care about his cases. He didn't even remember my case when we met him at court for our hearing. I had to refresh his memory after talking to him only days before. He does things even though you tell him not to and recommends doctors within the court papers who you have never spoken to, nor agree to use. Not only do his clients not like him, but other family lawyers I have spoken do say he is a waste of money, takes on to much and doesn't know his cases. A friend of mine went up against him in a court case and because of his lack of interest in his cases walked away with more then he started with regarding custody so Merritt's client lost almost all of her custody. He runs up your bill and you get nothing in return. DO NOT USE HIM!

Completely failed me and my children. He continuously tried to force me to change existing court orders giving me permanent sole legal and physical custody. Ex-husband had lost all visitation rights and order to enter residential treatment facility, he never complied with any of the court orders. Merritt Weisinger repeatedly brought up the issue of custody although the other side hadn't filed any motions to modify the existing orders, he wasted my retainer advocating for the other side. He failed to file documents on my behalf, he failed to gather evidence in my case, he constantly let his "personal agenda" interfere with the facts of the case. He completely misrepresented himself to me, he violated attorney client privileges, he breached our contract by not using the law to protect me and my children, this was a dereliction of duty. Once he had my non refundable retainer he was often rude and offensive,yelled and screamed, insulting me for being a stay at home mom,don't hire him!

Merritt has HORRIBLE communication skills. He was rarely prepared, always had to be re-informed of my case, talked over me constantly, very rough around the edges, I never knew what direction we were going in or where my case stood, disrespectful and just plain rude. Many, many lawyers out there who won't waste your time or money.

He is a horrible attorney, never calls back doesn’t do what he says he is going to do. VERY arrogant disrespectful. He CAN NOT multi task, he yells profanity at you and is just a jerk! When he can stay on task he is good but likes to drag things out to charge the clients more money. He will forget and drop the ball time and time again.

Aggressive, knows how to handle a court case, writes well. He is a family law specialist who helped my husband get a fair custody percent with his kids and who represented my sister in a case with a lot of assets. He can be impatient but hears what you tell him. What I really liked is that he knows everybody and was able to get a lot of things taken care of by picking up a phone and talking directly with the other side's lawyer and negotiating.

Is certified in family law, understands all the innuendos including pension funds. Does great job!Doesn't churn the account but rather tries to settle asap. He can be a tough sob when he has to be and reminds me of a bull dog in terms of tenacity. Knows the law, judges & attorneys well. Has great reputation but sometimes challenging to get him to call back.
